Martin O’Malley was at tonight’s Democratic debate. I say this so declaratively because it seemed like he got sidelined for most of the time, had to speak up to get a few words in, and even resorted at one point to just asking for just 30 seconds for a follow-up.
And in case that wasn’t enough to make his night, the phrase “Poor O’Malley” trended on Twitter tonight. No, seriously:
The good news for O'Malley is that he's finally trending on Twitter. The bad news is that the phrase is "Poor O'Malley." #DemDebate

And boy was it something:
Poor O'Malley. It's like being allowed to sit at the cool kids lunch table but no one talks to you.

Poor O'Malley. He should just tell everyone he's running for VP & then have his own debate. #DemDebate

Poor O'Malley, he respects the time limits, and so handsome, wish he got to talk more #DemDebate

Poor O'Malley. He's offering up really good ideas in a really respectful and practical way, and he's polling at like 3%
I believe in you.

Aww. Poor O'Malley. "That question was to Senator Sanders" is the new "You can't sit with us."
