Ivanka Trump’s Sunset Horse Ride Video Irks Pundits on Left and Right: ‘Let Them Eat Cake, 2026’

Ivanka Trump was hit with a wave of backlash on Monday after sharing a beach horseback-riding video, as critics across the left and right contrasted the video with economic pressures facing Americans.

The family vacation clip posted on social media by Ivanka Trump shows the sunset beach scene as Coldplay’s hit “Viva la Vida” plays. The video originally appeared in a series of uploads to Instagram featuring other members of the family.

It’s unclear who is riding on the horse in the video, but that didn’t stop President Donald Trump’s political opponents — and even some conservative commentators — from jumping at the chance to slam the first daughter as gas prices remain high and Americans continue to grapple with the cost of food and other everyday essentials.
