If you’re Presidential candidate Jeb Bush, you need to have a pretty good idea that everything you say will be transcribed, picked apart, edited, and tweeted at this point. Unfortunately, Bush is like the rest of us: getting caught up passionately when describing how much we love the new Supergirl ads that are running on CBS.
At the LIBRE Forum in North Las Vegas Wednesday, Bush said the following:
“I saw Supergirl on TV, I saw it when I was working out this morning. There’s an ad promoting Supergirl, she looked kind of — she looked pretty hot.”
Now, as is always the case, only the juicy chunk of the quote is what’s being passed around the internet in the above bite. Reportedly when asked who his favorite superhero was, Bush responded with Batman and then the above grab. I hope the question wasn’t from a Bush plant in a stunt now gone virally wrong. As Bush should know, often only the tail end of a statement is going to be grabbed and published.
The host sitting on stage with Bush gives an nervous laugh and actually fans himself with his cue cards. Did it just get hot up in here folks?
The Guardian’s Sabrina Siddiqui tweeted the following last night:
Ahh. Jeb said he saw ads for Supergirl and “she looks pretty hot, I’m looking forward to that.” Pauses and adds, “That’ll make news.”

Yes Jeb, everything you say makes news. Though, you’ve got to give Bush credit on slipping the sly reference of hitting the gym in the soundbite. It’s definitely not the most striking thing he said, but after going paleo the former Florida Governor has continued trimming down in time for his campaign.
