Michael Flynn Asks for Probation, Community Service in Court Filing

Michael Flynn is seeking no jail time, as a sentencing memo from his lawyers detailed tonight.

Per The New York Times, the former national security advisor’s defense team is asking for probation and community service instead:

Lawyers for Michael T. Flynn, President Trump’s first national security adviser, asked a federal judge late on Tuesday to spare their client any prison time for pleading guilty to lying to investigators, citing his significant cooperation with the special counsel’s investigation…

“His cooperation was not grudging or delayed,” Mr. Flynn’s lawyers wrote in a sentencing memorandum.

Robert Mueller said in his sentencing memo last week that they are seeking no prison time for Flynn, and cited his “substantial assistance.”

The memorandum from Flynn’s team details his interviews with prosecutors that apparently totaled over 60 hours. You can read the whole thing here.
