Missouri GOP State Rep Opens Fire On Gun Control Bill… Literally

So… it’s safe to say Republican State Rep. Eric Burlison really doesn’t like a new gun control bill several of his Democratic colleagues have proposed.

A video posted earlier this week by the Missouri legislator shows Burlison expressing his disdain for HB 545 — which would ban certain firearms within the state — by taking the physical bill and to a shooting range and using it for target practice.

Burlison first toured the range, asking various patrons of the shooting range for their thoughts on the gun control proposals (hint: they weren’t big fans).

“It’s a great bill,” one armed man said.

“Really?” asked Burlison.

“It’s great target practice,” the man quipped.

And then Burlison put it to the test, shooting several bullet holes into the paper. “That’s a good bill,” he said after he finished unloading.

Elsewhere in Missouri state politics, Republican State Rep. Mike Leara jokingly proposed a bill putting his fellow legislators in jail for proposing further gun control measures.
