Today is International Women’s Day and the Day Without a Woman strike, which anyone who follows MTV on Twitter would know. They did, after all, tweet the above photo.
Forgive us. We meant to say that anyone who follows WTV would know that.
In honor of the two-for-one chance to honor women, the pop culture giant flipped their “M” upside down. It made a “W,” like for “women.” Get it?
MWTV is also providing information on the strike, gender bias, how to be a good male ally, and more at this site from their Look Different campaign.
A variety of media organizations and advocacy groups have been participating in International Women’s Day, some by donating money or advertising and some by organizing direct actions.
