#StandWithIsrael Rally Targets CNN Media Bias at Time Warner Center

A #StandWithIsrael protest set up shop outside the Time Warner Center in New York City, home of CNN, Thursday night. The Facebook event page for the demonstration was titled “Support Israel Rally Against Biased Media” and features images of Hamas fighters unpacking a wrapped gift containing the CNN logo:

The event page lists 1,200 attendees who RSVP’d affirmatively to attend the protest. “We are an independent group of people who share a common and STRONG bond with the beautiful country, Israel!” the protest’s organization wrote. “We are tired of seeing the media berate and straight out LIE about the events taking place during this difficult time (and over time). That being said, we are raising funds for basic needs for a rally against media bias that will be held this Thursday, 8/7/14 at 6PM.”

CNN media reporter Brian Stelter called attention to the protest, including one sign that reads “The Media Fuels Terrorism”:

Other protesters and spectators posted photos from the scene as well:

CNN’s coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict has been criticized for being biased in favor of Hamas by people like Israeli ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer and conservative pundit Ben Shapiro. The network’s Wolf Blitzer has been reporting live from Jerusalem for the past several weeks and has aired interviews with members of the Israeli government along with representatives for Hamas.
