Susan Rice Will Testify in a Closed-Door Session Before The House Intel Committee
It was announced late Thursday that former National Security Advisor Susan Rice will be testifying before the House Intelligence Committee as part of their ongoing investigation into the unmasking of Donald Trump associates.
The top Obama official, who back in April was revealed as an “unmasker” after denying that she knew anything about the incidental surveillance of Trump’s inner circle, has agreed to testify behind closed doors in July. This comes after the House Intel Committee sent subpoenas to Rice as well as former CIA Director John Brennan and former UN Ambassador Samantha Power.
The investigation into the unmasking of Trump officials was sparked when a classified transcript that had unmasked Gen. Michael Flynn was leaked to the press. That led to the his resignation as National Security Advisor to President Trump after it was concluded that he misled Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with the Russian ambassador regarding lifting sanctions on Russia.
In May, Susan Rice had declined an invitation to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
