Teen Vogue Gets Political, Shreds Thanksgiving, #NoDAPL Protests, and WA Redskins

 

If you’re not a connoisseur of teen magazines, you might not know that Teen Vogue has really stepped up its content in recent times. There are still celebrity interviews and tips on how to pull off the latest trends, but they’re supplemented by quizzes about finding your political party, resources for teens looking to learn more about government, intersectional commentary on current events, and information about how and where to vote for  young people in every state.

Today, they delivered a one-two punch of timely information by releasing a video of Native Americans discussing their perception of Thanksgiving and then giving readers information on the Dakota Access Pipeline protesters, who are made up of indigenous people from around the country.

They capped off their Twitter thread with a jab at the Washington Redskins, whose use of a stereotypical and racist mascot has caused widespread controversy for years.
