Today’s shooting at the Columbia Mall in Maryland that left three people dead and several others injured spurred pop star Katy Perry to say enough is enough. As news of the latest in a string of mass shootings developed, Perry sent out a string of messages to her nearly 50 million Twitter followers, asking, “When will there by ACTUAL change?”
Is anyone else really sad about the constant stream of shootings and how normal it's becoming to see these headlines on a weekly basis?

Scared to go to school? Scared to go to the mall? Scared to go to the movies? Me too. When will there be ACTUAL change? How many more?!

You and I both know this is getting embarrassing…My heart goes out to ALL the victims & their families this week. I pray for change.

Perry was a prominent presence during President Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, playing at fundraisers and other events, as well as one of the inaugural balls. She recently revealed that she did not allow her parents to attend her 2013 inauguration performance because they are Republicans and did not vote for Obama.
The singer’s tweets caught the eye of another gun control advocate, CNN’s Piers Morgan, who invited her to come on his show to discuss the issue any time:
Come and talk about guns on my CNN show @katyperry – need voices like you to effect change.
