Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has now told the Department of Justice about ‘100 different people’ allegedly associated with Jeffrey Epstein, according to her attorney.
The claim from her lawyer, David Oscar Markus, comes just after Maxwell faced two days of interrogation led by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, where she was asked about “every possible thing you could imagine.”
Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges in 2021, declined to plead the Fifth Amendment at any point during the interrogation, according to Markus. “I think Ghislaine did a wonderful job,” he offered.
She currently aims to appeal her conviction and sentencing, with many wondering if her readiness to answer questions could be connected to a potential pardon by President Donald Trump.
Maxwell’s lawyer, who last week referred to the president as “the ultimate dealmaker,” has said he hopes Trump “exercises power in a right and just way.” He has also claimed it’s “especially unfair that Maxwell remains in prison based on a promise that the government made and broke.”
On Friday, after landing in Scotland, the president told reporters he “hasn’t thought” about the idea of pardoning Maxwell. “I haven’t really been following it,” he added, referring to Blanche’s interrogation.
