Fox & Friends Hosts Battle It Out as Steve Doocy Insists Deportee Was in U.S. ‘Legally’

Fox & Friends hosts Steve Doocy and Lawrence Jones engaged in a brief on-air tussle over the status of a migrant mistakenly deported to El Salvador by the Trump administration.

During a passionate discussion about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was rounded up and sent to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT megaprison in error by President Donald Trump’s administration, Doocy and Jones clashed over Garcia’s immigration status.

The conflict began as Doocy said: “The migrant kills the woman in Maryland. That’s one story. But this one is so much better because the way the Democrats are spinning it is this was a El Salvadoran who was in the country legally-”

Jones, cutting off Doocy then interjected, “Which is not true.”

“No, he was,” Doocy retorted.

“No, he was not,” Jones shot back. “He had a final deportation order. The only thing that’s in dispute is where he was sent.”

AINSLEY EARHARDT: This is what is so upsetting. You have this senator of Maryland. Sen. Chris van Hollen going down there: “The court ordered the safe return of my constituent.” He’s talking about this MS-13 — two courts said he is in MS-13 — ICE has confirmed he was in MS-13, which means is he a terrorist in our country. So he gets kicked out of our country, and now that’s the constituent he cares about? Is he even a constituent? A constituent is a voting member of a community. Can he vote in Maryland? Not for a federal election. Patti Morin says, “I live in this district. He never came to visit me.”

LAWRENCE JONES: Or my family.

EARHARDT: I live in the same district. He could have come over to my house and say hey. I didn’t hear from Democrats. I didn’t hear from Joe Biden, Kamala, Mayorkas, or her senator. She did hear from the Gov. Wes Moore. But she said he didn’t do anything about anything after that.

STEVE DOOCY: The reason she didn’t hear from any Democrats is politically it’s a losing proposition for them.

EARHARDT: Do is what they are doing to go down to the prison.

DOOCY: Listen, it’s two different — it’s the same topic but two different stories. The migrant kills the woman in Maryland. That’s one story. But this one is so much better because the way the Democrats are spinning it is this was a El Salvadoran who was in the country legally –

JONES: Which is not true.

DOOCY: No, He was.

JONES: No he was not. He had a final deportation order. The only thing that’s in dispute is where he was sent.

DOOCY: Right.

BRIAN KILMEADE: I can actually give you the background. He comes over at 16 by his parents. I guess he’s qualified as a DREAMer or whatever that means. At 19 he gets picked up, 20 years old, he gets picked up in front of a Home Depot. The Prince County cops pick him up and go this guy is here illegally he’s a suspected gang member turning him over to ice. He end up in front of the court. The judge, Elizabeth Kessler, says you are verified MS-13 ICE member. Evidence going to be coming in 8 months. December 29th. He appealed because he was supposed to be deported they said again, you are a member of ms-13. Being. Before you kick me out of the country I would like to apply for asylum. They go okay, can you apply to asylum I don’t know what you are going to stand on. By the way, if you do kick me out, it if you do kick me out. I’m going to — I’m going to say whatever do you, don’t kick me out to El Salvador, OK? So they go is he on a removal order living from that time to 2025. He is living here knowing he could be removed at any moment. People say OK, he could have been kicked out to any country. Why did you put him in El Salvador? Stephen Miller says yesterday a couple things the reason don’t go El Salvador MS-13. It has been eliminated as a threat because the El Salvador president arrested all of them, neck tattoos and all. So you can say one count eliminated as threat. Other count MS-13 thanks to this president is a terrorist group. So we’re kicking him out for being a member of a terrorist group. So this senator and the codel want to go down and visit the MS-13 member living on a removal order in Maryland. He’s not an American. He may be a dad. But has nothing to do with his legal status and MS-13 is one of the most brutal gangs you will ever come across. That’s how are going to bat for.

U.S. District Court Judge Paula Xinis ran out of patience with attorneys in President Trump’s Department of Justice at a hearing Tuesday regarding Garcia’s deportation and imprisonment in the El Salvadoran prison, eviscerating their efforts to redefine the word “facilitate” from a Supreme Court ruling and instructing them to “cancel vacations” to comply with a two-week inquiry into the matter.
