Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Monday that its preposterous to think America is at war with North Korea now due to President Trump‘s tweeting.
North Korea announced today that Trump’s latest tweets against the rogue nation amounted to a declaration of war. The press secretary was asked this, and also if the president’s fiery speech at the United Nations last week was meant to be taken as a declaration of war.
“Not at all,” Sanders said. “We’ve not declared war on North Korea and frankly the suggestion of that is absurd.”
When asked about the Kim government’s threat to shoot down U.S. planes even if bombers don’t fly into North Korean airspace, Sanders answered “it’s never appropriate to shoot down another country’s aircraft when it’s over international waters.” Sanders continued to insist that the administration is still focused on peaceful denuclearization.
