Fox’s Will Cain Delivers Scathing Assessment of Trump-Mamdani Summit: As They ‘Get Closer’ So Do Their ‘Ideologies’

Fox News host Will Cain tore into President Donald Trump’s summit with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, declaring that the pair’s rapport shows their “ideologies” are getting “closer.”

On Monday, Trump met with the Democratic mayor at Gracie Mansion. Talking to the press about the New York City mayors he’s met with in years past, the president added, “Some great ones and some not-so-great ones. So, hopefully you’re going to be a great one… You’re off to a start.”

Cain, on Tuesday’s edition of The Will Cain Show, referenced reporting from the New York Post, which cited an expert lip reader deciphering the words the two men exchanged away from the microphone.

“A meeting of the minds between MAGA and socialism,” said Cain of the pair’s appearance together, which Mamdani characterized as being about “how we can make it easier to afford life in this great city that we call our home.”

Cain then read an excerpt from the Post’s story, explaining that Trump told Mamdani, according to the lip reader, “I’ll look after you, you look after the New Yorkers. And we can both make it work. I wanna support you; help me. Come with me to the White House. See how I work.”

“As the two get closer, it’s starting to look like so too are the ideologies that are represented,” the Fox News host continued.

He then went on to cite an August article from The Wall Street Journal, titled “The Young MAGA Socialists Are Here,” that revealed, in Cain’s words, that “some young folks on the right are considering socialism as a shortcut to the American dream.”

“53 percent of self-identified young conservatives, under the age of 40, support government-run grocery stores,” Cain relayed from the Journal. “In a 2025 survey of young likely voters, 42 percent of conservatives said they would like to see a Democratic socialist win the presidency in 2028.”

Cain is not the only one on the right to take issue with Trump and Mamdani’s relationship. Radio host Sid Rosenberg, a friend of the president, called the meeting “grotesque,” while Trump ally Laura Loomer, dubbing Mamdani an “Islamic jihadist,” said she was “pissed off.”
