Trevor Noah Trashes Stacey Dash’s Congressional Run: ‘Doing It Just For The Fame’
On Tuesday night, Trevor Noah took aim at actress Stacey Dash after it was revealed that she is running for Congress.
While Dash hasn’t officially announced her candidacy, she did file the paperwork on Monday to run for the 44th congressional seat in California, which is currently occupied by Democratic Rep. Nanette Barragán.
The Daily Show host blasted the Clueless star, claiming she’s “doing it just for the fame.”
“She’s running as a Republican in Compton and Watts?” Noah asked. “They’re neighborhoods so black, they make Wakanda look like a Panera.”
He then played clips of Dash during her time as a Fox News commentator when she said we “don’t need things” like the BET Awards, the NAACP or a Black History Month.
“Good lord,” Noah reacted. “Forget Congress, Stacey Dash should run for president of The Sunken Place.”
Noah then insisted Dash isn’t running because she “actually expects to win” but it’s just a “publicity stunt” that will increase her profile for her next job, which he guessed was either appearing on Big Brother or a movie that’ll only be released in Bulgaria.
“I don’t even blame her,” Noah continued. “Because running just to become more famous actually works. The only time it didn’t work was when Donald Trump did it, but then he won by accident. Yeah, he’s that bad or that good.”
Noah concluded by hoping that Russian President Vladimir Putin isn’t a “big fan of Clueless.”
