Tucker Carlson Mocks Don Lemon For Trump Rally Reaction: ‘Step Back From The Ledge, Don!’
On Wednesday night, Tucker Carlson mocked CNN’s Don Lemon for his reaction to President Trump‘s rally in Phoenix.
The Fox News host played a montage of the “over-the-top rhetoric” in response to Trump’s rally, including CNN’s Ana Navarro, who suspects the president of having “dementia,” and Lemon for accusing Trump of “trying to ignite a civil war.”
“I kinda like Don Lemon — how could you not, ‘but igniting civil war?'” Carlson reacted. “Step back from the ledge, Don! You’re getting close!”
Carlson asked former House Speaker Newt Gingrich if such rhetoric should be taken seriously,
“I think very seriously,” Gingrich responded.
He noted a Dennis Prager article that argues the Antifa movement, what’s been happening on college campuses, and bureaucracy is creating “America’s second civil war.” Gingrich also pointed to former DNI James Clapper‘s remarks questioning Trump’s “fitness.”
“I think the gap is getting wider,” Gingrich continued. “And the hard left has never recovered. It’s the great trauma they have never recovered from. And they are now seeing their world start to be taken apart. Instead of left wing judge, they get a right wing judge. Instead of more regulations, they are getting less regulations. Instead of America being defeated and weak, America is suddenly getting stronger and beginning to win. It’s horrifying if you are a real left winger.”
