Trump Rips ‘Fabricated’ Allegations Against Kavanaugh: Dems Are Going to Vote Republican in Midterms
President Donald Trump unloaded on Senate Democrats Monday morning for their handling of Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh‘s confirmation process, calling the sexual misconduct accusations that were leveled against Kavanaugh “a hoax.”
“I thought the way they behaved was absolutely atrocious,” Trump said. “The way they conducted themselves… the way they really tortured him and his family, it was a disgrace.”
The president responded to a potential effort to impeach Kavanaugh — a man who he says is “brilliant jurist” and “did nothing wrong.” Trump called the impeachment effort “an insult to the American public.”
“I think you’re going to see a lot of things happen on November 6th that would not have happened before,” Trump said. “The American public has seen this dishonesty by the Democrats. And when you mention impeach a justice of the United States Supreme Court — who was a top scholar, top student, top intellect and who did nothing wrong… there was no corroboration of any kind. [He] went through seven FBI investigations and had nothing to do with any of this stuff.”
Trump doubled down on his claim that the accusations against Kavanaugh were part of “a hoax that was set up by the Democrats,” and had quite the prediction leading into the midterm elections.
“It was all made up,” Trump insisted. “It was fabricated, and it’s a disgrace. I think a lot of Democrats are going to vote Republican because… I have many friends that are Democrats — the main base of the Democrats have shifted so far left that this country would end up being Venezuela. I think a lot of Democrats are going to be voting Republican on November 6th”
