Everyone Is Talking About Terrorism But Glenn Beck

video

Maybe Glenn Beck made a New Year’s resolution not to read the news. Beck was led into his hour by President Obama‘s press conference, during which Obama admitted that the government missed the signs leading up to the Christmas bombing, which is practically the equivalent of the President sending Beck a belated specially gift-wrapped present with a big Mao bow on top. Instead, Beck continued on his merry fact-checking way today and opted to discuss the economy and why the government is truly comprised of socialists (and yes he is live this week). Glenn Beck is perhaps less interested in terrorists than he is in proving himself right? I have no idea, but it is certainly bizarre that he is opting out of this fiery news cycle in order to air a series that could easily run at some future date.

What Beck is not discussing, meanwhile, the rest of the media is talking about. According to the latest from Pew’s Project for Excellence in Journalism from December 28-January 3 the attempt to blow up Northwest Airlines Flight 253 filled 23% of the newshole. The economy occupied 16%, Afghanistan took up 7%, and education and Iran both merited 4% — health care is noticeable absent. Based on the continuing attention Obama is paying to national security measures (or the last thereof) this sort of balance may stay consistent in the near future. Beck video below, Pew chart below that.

    Glynnis

On his radio show Monday Glenn said this week was going to be (I’m paraphrasing) a review of last year. Then they were going to drop it and move on. It’s his show and the last time I looked I didn’t see the name
Glynnis MacNicol Executive Producer for the Glenn Beck Show anywhere.

I’ve got a cousin that watches New York Rangers telecasts, and does nothing but complain the whole game how the Rangers are playing. He’s a big Rangers fan.

I haven’t watched the clip yet, but yesterday’s gave me the impression that he might re-pump his followers and then start his 100-year war plan.

In other words, Glynnis, you don’t want to discuss the fact that he’s backing up what you errantly call “misinformation” and “lies.” So you’re asking why he’s not talking about what everybody else is talking about, as if you give a rat’s.

Glenn is a genius at drawing in the audience that is fed up with main stream media. It explains how he draws such a huge audience during the world’s worst time slot.

Maybe he is just keeping his word?

    puck30.. awesome.

I don’t think Beck’s show is about speech analysis(given, I think, he spends hours working prior to a show) and he made it clear this week would be a review of the questions the left will not answer or misdirects. Hmmm.. misdirection, Glynnis? Or are these just the same old lies Beck continues to spew that have been proven wrong time and time again?

  • Fidoohki

    rmbltmbl says,

Huh? When have they been ‘proven wrong time and time again?’ and by whom?!

  • rmbltmbl

I’m profiling Glynnis MacNicol there. See, you read pieces about Matthews, Olbermann and Maddow on Mediaite and they gleefully extrapolate every part of a piece from them implying victory and ‘intellectualism.’ With Beck, we get a Daily Show Moment of Zen(Glenn).. just to mock him and ignore any point or fact he is making. The argument of opinion and journalism will likely always be timeless, all I’m trying to say is if you want to be like Daily Kos, be honest with those who may be unsuspecting of the facts.

  • ImNotBlue

    *Sigh*

So I guess it really doesn’t matter what he talks about… according to Glynnis, it’s simply “wrong.”

    At least she’s consistent.

While Glenn is wrapping up his commentary from last year, Keith Olbermann is claiming that someone in the intelligence community intentionally withheld information in order to make Obama look bad. Talk about going down a sick path of conspiracy. Funny…..I see stories about Olbermann’s absurd and grotesque commentary all over the web, but not a word here.

Let me repeat that: Olbermann claimed that the intel community intentionally withheld information for the sole purpose of making Obama look bad. Sick, sick, sick.

Is it because no one who reports here watches MSNBC, or is Olbermann’s absurd commentary just accepted as the gospel by mediaite? Talk about a “moment of”! Really.

  • Fidoohki

    Oh! My mistake.

  • The Real Royal King

I’m sure Beck would like to talk about terrorism, but let’s face it, we are not dealing with a man who has the knowledge and skill to shift gears. Even O’Reilly and Van Susteren can do a presentable job winging it when the news focus suddenly changes. With Beck, however, if he decides that on Friday he will talk about honey being better on oatmeal than brown sugar, he is going to do so even if the Trump Tower falls on Jennifer Lopez on Friday morning. Even if you agree with Beck, I think you have to admit he is simplistic and moronic.

I realize that I’m walking on thin ice, but I’ve never understood this meme that nobody answers Beck. I mean, clearly he’s an entertainer and nobody “answers” Scooby-Doo.

Heck, listen to him, when he gets to the blackboard…

He throws the term “Federal Reserve” out there without explanation
“We ALL pay income tax now… or at least 50% of us do”
    Progressives “gave us prohibition”
Then he shorthands a 27-year org, replaced by one that has gone for 64
“They stopped teaching Constitutional Law and started only teaching Case Law”

And that’s less than a minute.

PS) Not to mention all of that nonsense yesterday about his red phone.

Sure, it made for a nice montage, sort of similar to a clip show doing all of the times Ross kissed Rachel, but if you were to take him seriously and think it more than a stage prop…

Who at the White House has the number and how did they get it?

  • Nachi

    Little Glenn IS a “terrorist”!

  • CSS

I don’t understand why it has to be a “dog and pony” show,.(???) Maybe this is the most comfortable way for Beck to get his message out. Hmmm??? Do you think Beck actually thinks that his viewers are reading the books that he touts? And, what about Pat Cadell? Do you all think he’s a true liberal? Glenn seems to believe as much. He’s had him on the show many times and Glenn has made it a point of telling us he’s a liberal. Why not bring on some Republican strategists to talk about Beck’s claim that McCain is a true Progressive?? Has that happened? I do believe that the President is not the man he says he is, and I wouldn’t discredit everything that Beck has tried to debate on his show. I’m just not 100% convinced that he’s being “totally” honest in getting his message out.
