Kelly Clarkson Sales Skyrocket On Amazon After Ron Paul Endorsement

Kelly Clarkson has been receiving a lot of flak for making an official 2012 presidential race endorsement earlier this week– that trophy going to Rep. Ron Paul. And while he had to fight a lot of vitriol from opponents, it appears Rep. Paul fans are displaying their trademark loyalty to her in record sales– or, at least, she reminded America that she exists enough to score a 192% rise in sales in the past 24 hours on Amazon.com.

RELATED: Kelly Clarkson Tells Fans She ‘Loves Ron Paul,’ Fans Accuse Her Of Supporting A ‘Racist And Homophobe’

Our sister site Gossip Cop found the amazing statistics that show that, quite the contrary from a potential boycott, Clarkson has garnered a significant contingent of new fans. They not that even beyond raw Amazon sales, the singer’s popularity was significantly affected on the site:

Sales of Clarkson’s album “Stronger” have soared on Amazon ever since the singer tweeted, “I love Ron Paul,” and “He’s got my vote.”

In the past 24 hours, Clarkson’s record was up 192% on the online retail site.

A day before the former “American Idol” winner explained why she’s a Paul supporter, “Stronger” was ranked #41 on Amazon’s “Movers & Shakers in Music” list.

Today, the album is up to #14.

Given the significant boost in sales for the singer, one wonders whether other Republican public figures will try to court the Rep. Paul constituency, too. And not just Michelle Branch.

when Paul drops out she’ll then endorse some other candidate in order to get their money too.

Are they buying her albums just to burn them? That supposedly happened to either the Beatles or Rutles–I forget which after the famous ‘bigger than Rod’ statement (referring to Rod Stewart)

Endorsing Obama would work out well for hollywood celebs and their networks,… just ask Oprah

Bigger than Rod? I believe it was “bigger than Jesus”. BTW, how do you burn an MP3? I don’t think anyone makes albums anymore.

    Proof that Paultards are tards!

Virtue wins in the end. A great and inspiring story. Like Ron Paul, Kelly Clarkson stuck to her beliefs, and she was rewarded for it. Let this be a lesson for us all.

Ahahaha! I just found the Rutles! Thanks, I get it now.

Maybe her motivation was lingering resentment of Clive Davis from her battle over the “My December” album – she looked for the most anti-Jew candidate she could find and endorsed him.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_45S32GWGDRUJIL6E2U4HOZW4BM Bob

Going out and buying terrible music en masse, just because the singer speaks highly of the holy one. The Paul folks really are a cult.

Skyrocketing sales of what? She hasn’t had a hit in years.

AAhhh, who has the last laugh now?

Geez, I thought Romney was the leader of a crazy cult but he ain’t got nuthin on Paul.

Funny, I lived through the 80′s and I seem to recall after Israel bombed Iraq Ron Paul was the ONLY one who stood up for them and said as a sovereign nation they had the right to defend themselves as they see fit.  Ron is not Anti-Jew, he just doesn’t believe the sun rises and sets on Israel, and neither do I.

Sony gets all of it? None goes to the artist? Wow, how can she affort to do this? I find it hard to believe she isn’t making any money on this and that more people buying doesn’t mean more money for her, ie support.

  • huffnnoccupyn

You should really read up on the recording industry and recording contracts. In short, artists are given advance money to make the recordings which then have to be paid back from the artist’s royalties. The artist sees none of that money until all costs are recouped, even royalties from previous releases of years past are used to pay for the new recordings.

You want to support Kelly more directly financially? Go see her in concert. However, Sony likely has its hand in those monies as well if she signed what’s known as a “360 contract.”

She will only truly make money if she can sustain this momentum through 2012. Good luck with that.

  • http://twitter.com/RabbleRealist A Rabble Realist

Kelly is thick and healthy and sexy. Of course she is for Ron Paul , a real American. I hope she sits on my face and farts soon.  Mmmmmmm.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_RDFPNIHCOHCZ6244MER4YGWSZU Brian

Ron Paul is the only person in the field that put this country back on track. Why is everyone so scared of someone that wants to increase freedoms and reduce the size of government. Instead they will vote for people that won’t change a darn thing.

Sorry but your whole Sony angle is just really weak and almost sounds like you know how dumb you sound.. but you’re trying to trick us into believing it too. Sorry, lol.. Sony wasn’t even mentioned until you brought them up and this is an interesting PR victory for Clarkson, not something I would have predicted.

  • Anonymous

Because they have no idea that their freedoms are being lost and that the size of government is of any concern to them. They equate this discussion to losing something and it petrifies them.

It’s not much different than being a child and hiding under a blanket to protect themselves from the boogeyman.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AK7UEYJ3TUS7H4XYC7BEOHJJUQ brian

I don’t like her music, but would support her for sticking her neck out.  Paul is right.  If they are a cult, at least it’s a well read and intelligent one.  The anti-Paul cult seems hell bent on going with the status quo.  Which is actually more cult-like.  Supporting candidates based on herd mentality and ignorance is the hallmark of the anti-Paulistas.

  • Anonymous

Her album shot up about 30 spots, it’s in the article, try reading.

  • joyce.miller3

I’m surpirised the Ronulans didn’t get it to #1 yet. I’m sure they will eventually. Even if they do, that bump doesn’t mean a substantial increase in sales. It all depends on the volume of sales she had at #41.  On a site like Amazon that could account for 1000 units this week. Nothing to get excited about.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_V73UAVQ6W4PH7XJA272HHC73QY xdreamartist

I understand quite well how it works thank you and you still seem to miss the point. She does see her share of the monies when all is said and done. Not only that but as she is now more popular she will get more contracts which will bring in more “advance monies. Quit being a sore loser just because some people have different ideas and opinions than yourself.

  • Anonymous

I’m actually an Obama supporter… I just think Obama having to debate Paul will be really good for the country and Obama will have to answer for his failings, while Paul will be confronted with the fact that some of his ideas seem nearly impossible. People should want the best Republican candidate vs the best Democrat candidate, it’s better for everyone…

Ron Paul is the shit, no doubt about it.  If you dont like Ron Paul, you basically like torture, oppression, the drug wars, the federal reserve, bailouts, Corporatism or Fascism, The Patriot Act, the NDAA, SOPA, FEMA, the UN, NATO, the IMF, never ending war which will drag us into WWIII, Bush, and Obama.  Use critical thinking and you will come to the conclusion i have, that it is Ron Paul or not at all, and we are forever lost.  May Love and Peace guide your reason.

  • Anonymous

It would be an interesting debate. Don’t get me wrong, many of Paul’s ideals to me seem irrationally unsound, that said he brings an interesting perspective to the table. Obama does have his deal of faults as President and it would be nice to see someone address them with something other than the partisan line. That said some of the attacks from both sides against Paul are completely outrageous, making me more inclined to side with him though I disagree with him on many things.

  • huffnnoccupyn

“when all is said and done” … what a convenient phrase …

I’m just telling you the truth that while Kelly may benefit, Sony will profit.

Kelly has already benefited. How any of what you said should help me sleep better eludes me entirely. Why do you think it is a bad thing that Sony profits, they are a global company which mean that many here in the US profit when they profit as well. They provide American jobs too. Kelly profits, Sony profits and America profits. Hey your right I will sleep better tonight. “When all is said and done” . . . not only convenient but apt.

  • http://twitter.com/Meiun Darren Terry

That’s so crazy.  How can you say that?  His policies are more loving and respectful of the individual than ANY politician since James Madison!  What i earn with my work, and what i create in my mind are MY property.  You do not have a right to what I earn.  Ron Paul’s policies return my rights as well as my responsibilities to ME, and to you.  If you want to practice compassion you are FREE to do so with what you have earned.  The government has no right to interfere in that exchange and that is why we’re in the mess we’re in now.

  • huffnnoccupyn

If there is something that Libturds have in common with independents is moral ‘liberalism’.  It is a fact that left/independent-Americans are so dechristianized that they reject any hard “Christian” candidate.  These Americans want their “lifestyle” left alone.  A total self-centered attitude irregardless of what experience dictates.  Now, Ron Paul is the only candidate not to take a stand for any religion, that certainly explains his popularity.  The current and next generation are allergic to anyone with more experience telling them what to do and Ron Paul wants to deliver that.  Given this ‘symptom’, I will NOT be surprised if in this election cycle it happens what happened in Minnesota.  A rejection of the ‘old-corrupt-choices’ and the ‘people’ elects the ignorant, unknown, populist, extrovert, bomb-throwing – Jesse Ventura which in this case it would be Ron Paul. This “self-centerness” attitude will be the demise of America as we know it, specially in the ‘tense’ times we are living world-wide.  Ron Paul has practically given up on the US being the dominant nation in the World and would gladly give it up… this is an attitude that Democrats/socialists gladly promote as they want those governed to be obedient, docile, FEARFUL of the ‘united’ forces of the World… irregardless of their morality and that, IMHO, is the most anti-American attitude.

So when 99% of other celebrities endorse Obama they also do it to get Obama’s money? I don’t think so. Celebrities are often liberal for two reasons. 1. To fit in with Hollywood. 2. Because they’re the kind of stupid rich people that feel guilty about making money, and thus need to atone by telling everyone to drive a crappy hybrid while they ride limos.

Kelly however is a healthy celebrity, true to her roots, free to endorse anyone she likes. As for money, she’ll get plenty with or without endorsements.

Your recollection is wrong, according to his former congressional staffers (who also say in private he’s repeatedly said to them that entire creation of Israel in 1948 was a mistake).  In any event, you miss the point – Paul is clearly the least favorite presidential candidate of American Jews (on both the right and the left, but in this case we’re talking about Clive Davis, who Clarkson can’t stand).

  • Anonymous

Oh really, so congressional records are wrong then. Ofcourse he’s the least favorite of Jews, that’s because he doesn’t think the sun rises and sets on Israel. The creation of Israel was a mistake, what right did anyone have to kick people out of their homes to create that country, and it’s been nothing but trouble in the world since it was created, Germany caused the holocaust, they should have given up their homes.
