Limbaugh Asks What “Pharaoh Obama” Was Doing At A Party While Egypt’s In Turmoil

audio

Rush Limbaugh’s discussion of the Egyptian protests on today’s show featured a lot of great quotes. He the “state-run, drive-by media” of supporting the overthrow of the Egyptian government without considering the circumstances as well as asking why they aren’t giving George W. Bush credit for predicting democracy would spread like “wildfire.” Most notably, however, he asked what President Obama was doing at a party while Egypt was burning.

The party in question was for David Axelrod, Obama advisor who’s leaving the White House to begin working on the President’s 2012 re-election. It was thrown at the house of Linda Douglass, ABC reporter turned White House spokeswoman turned National Journal VP journalist. It was apparently attended by such media figures as Jake Tapper and Chuck Todd. Limbaugh was not happy:

“I want you to imagine something. Imagine that Karl Rove had decided to leave the White House and I threw a Bye-Bye Bash for him in my house that Bush 43 attended while something like this was going on in Egypt. Do you think you would have heard about that party the moment it was taking place? Yeah. And do you think any media people would have been invited? No.”

UPDATE: This post originally incorrectly identified Douglass as doing journalism for the National Journal. She is, in fact, the Senior VP of Communications and not working on the writing end. Apologies for the mistake.

Why Eff should president care what people of Egypt want or don’t want? He should wait for their next government whatever it is comprised of and then decide what should we do next, throwing oil in the flame is the nutjobs’ work not that of The President.

    Excerpt from 1 Peter 3:8-12

Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what God is asked.

I thought that this was an incredibly apt comment that we who participate in the discussions here would like to follow. I just wish that talk radio, both left and right, could follow this example.

It is hard to be hypocritical as a liberal because they have no standards or ethics. They are good a blaming the right for something they do all time. It’s kind of like the police having to play by a set of rules and the criminals don’t. Conservatives have to play by a set of rules but the liberals have no rules.

So I do see your point. It is easier being a liberal.

These Republicans seem not to understand what they actually want. If he follows the constitution, he is a communist, if he doesn’t he is a Marxist.

    How embarrassing?

Where in the constitution does it says that America has to be the world’s Police or Nation builders?

That’s why they can’t stand Ron Paul, because they hate the truth.

haha they just take this as insults they don’t stop to think they are listening to a former drug addict.. who seems to also be Bi-Polar.

You don’t get to be like Rush Limbaugh without having some sort of underlying medical issue that keeps you such a troll…

He must like when people hate him, or just get some kind of surge of adrenaline when he’s able to have people listen to him and take him seriously.

I think if you dragged Limbaugh onto a show where he had to answer facts about regions of the world, cultures, or the underlying dynamics of the middle east situation, he would get them totally wrong….. BUT he would be able to make you think he was right by purely manipulating you.

Rush is a man that knows very little but is able to use his opinion and the way he speaks to spread what little knowledge he has into a large discussion, usually making things up as he goes along. He’s able to twist things in ways that will rile up his base… but did you ever stop to think, does he every say things that will make Democrats or Liberals happy? Why not? Just because of a different worldview?

Rush Limbaugh is someone that gets paid to espouse right-wing values while trying to make the right HATE the left. I think the left assumes that eventually Republicans will “come around” and realize that logic and research are the bedrock of government… but that’s not the case.. because strong words are all a Republican thinks they need. Balancing a budget doesn’t really fall into their agenda till they are in office, then they realize they don’t know what they are doing.

Us Liberals look down on Republicans because they don’t choose to elect smart people as their representatives… they want manipulative, argumentative, people that are able to make people ignore the facts and instead focus on anger.

It’s a great system for overpowering your opponents.. but this isn’t really a business venture.

You’ll see in a few generations when the Tea Party is obliterated and the Republicans disappear.

Calling him a Pharaoh is racist? Why? It’s the race baiters that are always bragging about how the Egyptians were black, how Jesus was black, how Cleopatra was black, how the original Jews were black… So how is it racist to call der fuhrer a Pharaoh?

Now look, you people had every TV station and Air America to make fun of Bush. Boston Legal did, SNL did, Comedy Central’s “That’s My Bush” did, books did, etc, etc, etc. Well, now it’s our turn, and just because he’s black doesn’t mean he gets a pass. In fact, it would be RACIST to give him a pass, so in order not to be racist we’re gonna treat him as bad as any white president gets treated.

See? That’s judging a man by his character. So let me make it clear: calling Obama the n-word is racist. Calling him a Marxist, socialist, der fuhrer, Pharaoh, black Hitler, the messiah, the anointed one, that damn Kenyan, that Muslim, King Bama, His Holiness, or the asshole in chief… well, that’s treating him the way you people treated Bush.

I liked the scripture you quoted and do my best to live by that idea–I often fail because, like Peter, I don’t suffer fools joyfully–but you are, I’m afraid, asking humans to be something more than themselves. As for the “both sides doing it” part, I would venture to say that, although wrong, the conservatives do it in response to the left doing it first. That doesn’t justify it, it just explains it.
