Michael Moore Also Hates Obama’s Health Reform Bill

video

Just because George W. Bush is no longer in the White House doesn’t mean documentary filmmaker and activist Michael Moore is gushing over our current administration. In fact, the director of 2007′s Sicko – about America’s whacked-out health care – is vocally against President Barack Obama‘s proposed reform bill. So much so that if he were Dennis Kucinich, he’d only vote for the bill if Obama went on TV and told the country all the things the bill won’t reform.

Say what you will about Moore following some sort of liberal agenda, but on this particular issue he’s not letting Obama get away with anything more than he let Bush.

I know it’s shocking to hear voices of dissent from the same party as the President, especially after eight-years of lock-step cult-like adulation of all things Bush/Cheney; but there is and always has been a cute, naive intellectual honesty on the left that amuses us peons whilst Republicans put their jack boots down hard and stamp out dissent to get things done.

Moore is right and so is Obama, this bill – that will pass this week – is exactly the best corporate piece of trash that our pathetic political system is capable of producing. Enjoy!

This is what happens when you sell your Democracy to the highest bidder. Weak Democrats afraid of the tsunami of cash a wrong vote will bring, with Republicans openly shilling for the same forces while claiming the populist high ground and misrepresenting this sellout bill as Socialism.

Jim R writes: “there is and always has been a cute, naive intellectual honesty on the left.” Perhaps that cute, naive quality explains why the Democrats pass trillion dollar spending bills without reading them.

But in all honesty, the reason why Obama is facing critics in his own party on the health care bill is because most people don’t like it, and the politicians who vote for it will lose their jobs. And that is pretty cut and dried, no matter how cute and naive you are. .

Michael Moore is cute? I’d better adjust my set. But if Mike keeps this up, he’s going to be appearing on Keith’s worst persons list.

Let’s not kid ourselves, I’m not saying Moore doesn’t believe this, but i think it’s more a case of trying to make BO out to be a moderate which he is NOT.

I agree with Mr. Moore to the extent that I believe the bill to be flawed. However, it is clear we have to have substantive reform. Each year, thousands of Americans are thrown off of insurance, thousands of small businesses are forced to make the choice of trying to keep their workforce healthy or trying to keep their businesses afloat. Millions of Americans are relegated to the worst and the most expensive form of health care, the emergency room. So, what do we do? Do we take the path of the Republicans during Raygun’s, Poppie’s and W’s reign, and do nothing, absolutely nothing except make the special interests happy? Or, do we attempt to enact some meaningful reform? I think this is our only course of action. If we don’t take action, we not only endanger the lives of millions of Americans, but we also risk an economic collapse that makes W’s drive off the cliff look like a Sunday outing. In the end, I support the bill. Given the toxic environment in conservative Democratic districts, created by self-serving (White) Tea Partiers, and given the familiar shrill, “No! NO!! N O !!!” chorus of the Republicans, we have to take what we can get, and begin work anew on a New Route to give America and Americans not only the highest quality health care, but the most available health care in the free world.

A little bird directed me over to Koldys’ PHOX Phan Klub. Boy, Julie Driscoll ate your lunch and came back for seconds. I feel sorry for you. You must be devastated this morning.

wow! An ACTUAL socialist (as Michael Moore considers himself) *hates* this bill. Surprised? Well, you shouldn’t be.

    >Let’s not kid ourselves, I’m not saying Moore doesn’t believe this, but i think it’s more a case of trying to make BO out to be a moderate which he is NOT.

Uh, there is no left wing in America. Left-wingers are Sanders, Moore and Kucinich. That’s about it. Liberalism as an ideology is a centrist ideology. In Europe, where they have thriving socialist parties, liberals are centrists.

(White) Royal Racist, I don’t even know what this Koldy’s is that you seem to be obsessed with. So if someone’s lunch was eaten, I assure you it wasn’t mine. In other words (gasp) you lie.

  • writer

There are no left wingers? Then by that logic, there are no right wingers either. There’s only conservatism as part of a centrist ideology.

Michael Moore seems to be extraordinarily talented at “hating” things.
