Rupert Murdoch Deletes Controversial Tweet: ‘Maybe Brits Have Too Many Holidays For Broke Country!’
After joining the unwashed masses of the Twitterati just this past weekend, media mogul Rupert Murdoch discovered the downsides of telling the whole world what’s on your mind on a moment’s whim. Murdoch slammed Brits for taking too many holidays despite the poor economy: “Maybe Brits have too many holidays for broke country!”

After initial outrage, Murdoch deleted his message, but as long as there’s screencap technology, tweets are forever.
International press reports are saying that Murdoch’s wife Wendi Deng immediately replied: “RUPERT!! delete tweet!!” (But come on folks, it’s the internet — somebody’s trolling us.) Update: And it turns out it was indeed a fake account.
Flustered by the flak he received from his provocative deleted tweet, Murdoch exclaimed, “I’m getting killed for fooling around here and friends frightened what I may really say!”
