Soundbite: ‘Murdoch Didn’t Ruin WSJ; He Just Made It Ordinary’

“Murdoch didn’t ruin The Wall Street Journal; he just rendered it into a much more ordinary paper.”

Former Wall Street Journal Staffer Glenn R. Simpson, who was quoted by David Carr in today’s “Media Equation” column that details a new bias at the Journal under new owner Rupert Murdoch. We would be remiss in pointing out that we, in fact, made noticed the very same thing in August of this year. Harrumph.

This is a shocking story. Shocking!

I will be equally shocked when David Carr files a piece quoting former New York Times staffers who claim the New York Times has been sympathetic to the liberal side of political issues since, ohhhhhh, about World War II.

You actually are remiss, as a news-centered web site, for not calling out the Times on a laughable double standard.

Rupert likes to make sure that every single newspaper he owns has a clear conservative bias. Every single one of them supported the invasion of the Iraqi war in 2003.

Oh well, Wall Street Journal is now basically any other type of conservative ragsheet.

Murdock makes money. Other than that, he pretty well destroys everything he touches. He’s never a mystery in that regard. Very predictable.

Murdoch… still not spelling it correctly.

For someone who likes to talk about how smart he/she is (you), spelling really isn’t your forte… is it?

As for the hypocrisy of complaining about the WSJ’s “conservative” bias, while for years and years denying any kind of left-wing bias (no matter the stories, evidence, or undeniable proof) is always disapointing… but never surprising. It’s always easier to see what “THE OTHER GUYS” are doing, then to cricize yourself.

    You spelt disappointing wrong.

I believe the proper internet term is “pwned”.

Never count spelling.. take it from a lousy speller like me.:P Seriously though if the paper is making
money then it is a good move. conservative papers fill a niche that has been willfully ignored by the
most others because they don’t want those voices out there. Just like the persecution of Glenn Beck
    and Sarah Palin.
