#ThanksMichelleObama: Students Tweet Disgusting School Lunch Photos
As of 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, the hashtag #ThanksMichelleObama is trending nationally on Twitter. But unfortunately for the first lady, the tweets are pretty much all sarcastic.
The trend of teens posting disgusting photos of their school lunches with the message to the woman who spearheaded a campaign to make those meals more nutritious appears to have started in Wisconsin, but thanks to some heavy promotion from BuzzFeed, has quickly spread to the rest of the country.

While the hashtag is really starting to blow up today, it appears to date back at least to September 2012, when one student posted this photos of some wheat pancakes on Instagram, writing “#thanksmichelleobama #not”:
