My fervent wish is that in 2013 we will have a First Lady who understands the propriety of the office of the Presidency. No wonder the Obama’s couldn’t score an invitation to the royal wedding- who knew how they’d behave!

Now that’s exactly what this administration, especially Michelle Obama ought to be promoting ( dancing as exercise ), not micro managing ( abusing ) school lunch programs. Not to mention the kid’s appeared to love doing what they were doing, with not one phone or I-pod in sight.

School lunch programs have been serving crap to kids at least since I was I child. Recommending more fresh vegetables and fewer processed foods is not “big government”, it’s a great idea in a country with so much child obesity. The schools are still allowed to serve crap to your children: Tater Tots, Pizza, Chocolate Milk. Be happy about that and get off the First Lady’s back.

Until I see the First Lady in a pair of athletic pants, there is nothing about her that says “Let’s Move”. Her outfit in the video seems highly inappropriate. Now, if she wished to actually be serious about the campaign, that’d be nice.

The mentality that the GOVERNMENT should be involved in kids not getting off their fat asses and exercising is absurd. Are those people having children so STUPID that they don’t KNOW what foods are nutritional and what foods are fattening and that sitting, playing computer and video games all day is NOT exercise. Apparently, there is no longer any such thing as parental responsibility.

DEFUND the Department of Education, send some of the money to the states and get out of the business of indoctrinating our kids. I believe in either a defunding or a strong restructuring of the EPA and the Dept. of Ed.

Mrs. Obama has several PSAs out about getting out and playing and MOVING for at least an hour a day (aimed at kids but really EVERYONE should be doing this). I cannot imagine how anyone can be critical of these common sense things. Mrs. (Laura) Bush encouraged reading and I, a certified, card carrying, bleeding heart, liberal, applaud her for it!

HAHAHA I can just picture her two girls with their hands over their faces, embarassed by their mother’s antics. I feel embarassed for her and I don’t even like her. Women over 40 do not try to dance the hip hop especially with young teens in front of you because they were trying to show her how to really move her body, but she just did the mommy dougie…….

Good for Michelle, what an impressive 1st Lady, she seems so relatable!! She seems to be raising great kids, so she is relatible to parents & kids…..I just read an article about the corilation between so many kids on medication and not getting recess and activity in schools….Sounds very reasonable to me, and what better example than our current 1st Lady ..it is stupid to compare Laura Bush, who I always admired very much, and Michelle Obama…they are different generations and have kids much different ages…People that do that are just playing politics…Grow up!!!

One of the problems with both of the Obamas is that they say one thing and do another, whether it’s about their lifestyle or the price of Michelle’s wardrobe or his golf outings or whatever. They either lie or shade the truth on every topic.

Regarding the differences between Laura Bush’s reading campaign and Michelle’s food police, it was clear that Mrs. Bush is an inveterate reader and she was merely encouraging kids to read, but she didn’t create a program to ENFORCE reading in school, but Michelle Obama, on the other hand, has FORCED schools to change their lunch programs. That’s the difference between our two points of view. I believe that you give people the information and hope they use it to their advantage IF THEY SO CHOOSE. Maybe the First Lady is happy because Prince Charles endorsed organic farming during his recent visit. I know we love to criticize the royals, and maybe they ask for it a little, but I like an opportunity that lets me be happy we still have them.
