Calling in to talk to Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, Bill O’Reilly took time this morning to talk about his Superbowl Sunday interview with President Obama. Pundits have pored over the interview in an attempt to divine a winner and loser, and O’Reilly’s got his own verdict on the chat: “I got my questions in. I was suitably confrontational in a friendly way.”

MSNBC host Ed Schultz is certainly no stranger to calling out President Obama for not going on his program, and it seems every time the president interacts with Fox News, the progressive commentator begins the see red. The President’s upcoming chat with Bill O’Reilly on Super Bowl Sunday was no different, though, rather than taking the hard line against the President this time, Schultz merely expressed concern that there was no “upside” to the broadcast, because “you can’t trust ‘em.”

On his usual appearances alongside Megyn Kelly, John Stossel limits his libertarian leanings to debating feudalism, showing off his mustache, and taking rides on his government-funded go-cart. For better or worse, today’s conversation took a turn for the awkward, with Stossel as a passionate defender of bad Showtime pseudo-porn against big government overreach.

Old Spice is on a campaign to get your attention. Throwing out the rulebook that you need to tell your consumers why they can’t live without your product, the new Old Spice message is the exact opposite, letting viewers in on the joke: not only the insanity of thinking your life problems could be solved by smelling good, but the ridiculousness of the entire ad industry’s credo. “The Man Who Smells Like The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” is the latest example of this clever campaign.

Yesterday, we carried a story about CBS’s precedent-upending decision to run a “pro-life” advocacy ad by Focus on the Family during the Super Bowl. The ad is to feature Tim Tebow – the Heisman award-winning QB renowned, among other things, for his habit of quoting Hebrews with his eye-black. In it, Tim and his mother recount, allegedly without visible embarrassment, the saga of Tim’s conception, career as a fetus, and birth. You will be slightly less than astounded to learn that news of the ad has gone over very well with some, and very badly with others.
