Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver Announce Split After 25 Years

California’s former first couple, Arnold Shwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, have announced their separation–releasing a statement Monday night that said the couple will live apart and “decide on the future of their relationship.”

The couple–introduced to each other by NBC’s Tom Brokaw–have been together 25 years and have four children. Those close to the family say they have been living somewhat separate lives in recent years, with Schwarzenegger focused on politics and Shriver devoted to charity work:

“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together,” Shriver and Schwarzenegger said in the statement.

I don’t think it’s a surprise. Arnold has moved more and more to the left which means his morals have become more and more screwed up. He’ll be shown with someone much longer soon and what’s her name will be forgotten. Just watch over the next few months and years.

Why am I not surprised? If Sean Penn can show up with Scarlett Johansen, who knows what’s available for Arnold? Maria Shriver may be looking to take over some national media job that’s currently in flux.

That’s what you get for marrying a Democrat when you’re a Republican. Oh well, 25 years is a long time, kudos for putting up with each other for so long. And thank God Arnold is getting back to acting, seriously, unless you suck as an actor like Ronald Reagan, don’t get into politics!
