Awkward: Karl Rove Calls Fox & Friends Host Alisyn Camerota ‘Gretchen’

video

Karl Rove is a regular on Fox & Friends, both the weekday and weekend editions (which have different hosts). It had been a while since he had been on either– not since 2011, in fact– and so he had prepared a cute New Year’s Resolution joke about how he would promise to protect the female host from the other two jokers, except it appears he prepared it for the weekday edition. And so, this morning, he mistakenly promised Alisyn Camerota that he would protect Gretchen Carlson from her co-hosts. Oops!

“I have, incidentally, made a new year’s resolution!” Rove excitedly told the hosts, to “do a better job of protecting Gretchen from you guys.” “Or Alisyn!” she retorted, co-host Dave Briggs suggesting that a better resolution would be to “remember her name, that may be a good place to start.” Rove buried his head in his hands (how often do we get to see Karl Rove do that?) and apologized. After a bit of banter, Camerota dismissed him by saying, “thank you, Mike Huckabee!”

the writer obviously KNOWS that Karl can’t SEE the video feed (he only is looking into a camera without a monitor) so he’s just ignorant of the weekend crew…and I’m not a Rove defender but I’ll give him a pass on this.

Who said you can’t tell one brainless blonde on FOX News from another?

    Karl Rove, that’s who.

I’m not a huge fan of Rove, but come on, he’s looking into a camera and can’t even see who he is talking to, as opposed to:

I hope you didnt spend too much time writing this out!
But then again, you do pander to the loony left who will eat up anything that has Fox News and  Karl Rove in the same sentence that tries to say something negative… You won points with them! They take anything!

Actually, I thought it was a waste of space.  Innocent mistake, the only time Karl does anything innocently.

  • TVNewsViewer

It could have been worse, he could have called her Greta

Why did Mediaite make a big issue of this but ignore this one?

Now if Karl Rove had his chalkboard with him, he never would have made that gaffe…

Note to Karl: never leave home without your chalkborad, it keeps you on topic withcorrect names and the right talking points !

“Brainless blonde”. Got any other stupid stereotypes you care to share?

  • Henry Wood

They all look alike to me.

  • Anonymous

yeah they should be reporting on something from 2006. This is a nothing story but well, so is that.

  • Anonymous

Sure …  “FOX blond law school honor graduate commentators”.

  • Anonymous

    Did someone mention Shannon Breem?

  • Anonymous

Not all blondes are brainless, just the ones who FOX hires. It’s not a stereotype if it’s true.

Now let’s see you defend Steve Doocy’s i.q.
