Bristol Palin Finishes Third On Dancing With The Stars Finale

video

Bristol PalinControversial Dancing With The Stars contestant Bristol Palin took the stage for the final time a few minutes ago, participating in a “Cha-Cha Challenge” with her fellow finalists. Though Palin put up a good fight, it wasn’t enough to help her win a mirror-ball trophy—host Tom Bergeron just revealed that she placed third in the competition. As most people predicted, actress Jennifer Grey ended up with the win.

Palin, characterized as “the shy girl next door who’s transformed into a dancer and become a surprise contender” by Bergeron, wore a sensational fringed outfit as she twirled and shimmied with partner Mark Ballas to the tune of Pink‘s “Raise Your Glass.” I’m no dance expert, but Sarah Palin‘s eldest seemed to clean up pretty well in her last dance.

The show’s judges had nothing but praise for Alaska’s former first daughter. Len Goodman said she’d never seen Bristol dance so well. Bruno Tonioli agreed, saying she did a “fabulous job keeping up with those two.” Carrie Ann Inaba said that she and Ballas “inspire hope” when they dance. She ended up garnering a score of 27 out of 30, a respectable sum that was nevertheless the lowest of the final three. Palin ended up finishing third overall as well, below Kyle Massey and Grey.

Judge Bristol’s last dance for yourself after watching the clip below.

And here’s the reveal of Bristol’s place in the competition:

ABC had problems with the fans voting last night!

It was great for Bristol, anyway!

I never got through on the phone to vote for Bristol.
Always a busy signal…….from after last nights show right up to this morning.

  • DonnaK

The girl didn’t deserve to be in the finals, the only reason they kept her was ratings. So many other dancers were better and worked so much harder Although, she came out with a wad of cash, which is what is most important to that family. What she said tonight in the lead up to the finals shows just how the Palins think and how classless they are–”-I want to win because it would be a big middle finger to the people that don’t like me”!! Such class & dignity, of course she learned from the best ,now didn’t she? She had a big voting block, but not enough to take her over the top–just like her Mother will be in 2012.

  • AmeriCuda

Just the fact that your headline reads ‘BRISTOL PALIN FINISHES THIRD’ and not ‘JENNIFER GREY FINISHES FIRST’ tells me who really won. Bristol proved herself to be the true STAR of this DWTS and showed more class than all the rest put together (along with Kyle). Sadly for Mediahate and all the other left wing garbage spewers, you did nothing to diminish her success.

  • madtechie

In my book, Bristol Palin actually won.

She didn’t win the competition but she did win a place in every progressive’s mind that drove tham absolutely insane and caused some to become unhinged. We had threats of violence, mysterious white powder and one poor sap even shot his TV.

I did not watch one minute of DWTS nor do I plan to but you are a winner, Bristol. Thank you.

  • roxsteady

She did lose and she came in behind the black guy, just like her mama!

  • roxsteady

Now go ahead, release the crack heads and their unhinged caps!

  • DonnaK

Excellent Roxsteady, I wish I would have thought of that!! You’ve got to love the truth, and she will come in behind the black guy in 2012!!

  • Fox News: Better that we sell Hate than Crack

The Freepers should still pleased with this result. They influenced the results of a competition and were able to knowingly eliminate many dancers who were more talented, skilled and deserving—all in the name of politics.

A more accurate summation would be that the public has responded to her mother’s charisma.

Let me suggest a new definition of garbage spew… Pretending that a single mother abstinence advocate of few years famous for birth from an odd and unpopular self promoting pretender is relevant beyond admiration resultant a fractional clan of reactionary America Haters is deserving of victory in a public skill competition despite a decided lack of said skill simply because a lack of victory is evidence of hatred of those who admire dedication to solid standards over reactionary adoration of aberrant personality.

Looks like we now know who it was making those threats against Bristol Palin. Forwarded to law enforcement and the cyberpolice….
Their backtracking v2.0 software should soon produce a suspect to go with the above confession.
Consequences will never be the same.

  • Bill Mahwer

Thank God that is over. Sarah should tell her kids to cool it and keep a lower profile.

Isn’t Bristol the same kid who just got knocked up by a weirdo kid who is now making a complete joke of the family. This is the main reason as much as many might like Palin she is not electable. Too much hair around her family.

  • Nacho

ABC must have corrected the flawed voting system that allowed Bristol Palin to get that far.

  • Big_F-ing_Deal

Remember, the most important thing isn’t who wins and who loses….the most important thing is that Bristol cries.

  • RTB

The best dancer won anyways so you palin bitchers can stop beating this non issue. .other than bristol showing alot of class i thought tom bergeron did a tremendous job representing the show and his defense some what of bristol. ..Your a good man tom thanks. ..i guess Hollywood is not entirely evil

  • http://www.anonymousfinch.com AnonymousFinch

I thought she only got that far because the racist Tea Partiers were cheating. Did they forget to cheat in the voting last night?

It sorta reminds me of how Republicans stole the 2000 and 2004 elections, but then somehow forgot their old tricks in 2008.

Republicans steal every election, except when they don’t.

“Controversial Dancing With The Stars contestant Bristol Palin . . .”

It’s difficult for me to conceive of a more damning indictment of the Left. The fact that a teenager dancing on a dance contest can be deemed “controversial” without a hint of irony says everything you need to know about the modern Progressive movement.

  • Nacho

    AnonymousFinch said:

I agree that it was a shame that ABC did not correct the flaws in their voting system until the very end “due to public outcry.” Looking at the big picture, it does look like the LSM (CBS) took advantage of Tea Partiers allowing them to manipulate the system until it came down to when it really counted, I suppose they are indeed a gullible group. 23 million?? 3 million of those must have been Sarah Palin supporters.

Actually there was some talk from the producers that they ironed out the glitch that allowed for multiple voting from fake emails.

And don’t get so excited about this…“Controversial Dancing With The Stars contestant Bristol Palin . . .”

Sanjay was controversial, Richard Hatch was controversial, Doctor Will was controversial, Adam Lambert was controversial….Reality Shows breed controversial stars, it’s what gets them the ratings. It’s not “a..damning indictment of the left”. lolol

First, I did not hear any talk that they “ironed out the glitch.” To the contrary, what I consistently heard from the producers is that there was no glitch, and that the claims of cheating were always mythical.

Second, Sanjay, Hatch, Doctor Will, and Adam Lambert all went out of their way to be controversial. That was their “game” and claim to fame. Bristol is a meek, shy, and completely unoffensive 19 year-old.

The only controversy about Bristol is her last name. If her last name were Smith, she wouldn’t be controversial. If her last name were Kennedy or Clinton or Cuomo, she would be sainted.

  • Nacho

If her last name was Smith, she would have never been on the show.

I’m guarantee you the young Bristol was second choice to former V.P. candidate S. Palin.

There was no glitch. The problems that ABC admitted to experiencing were over loaded phone lines, which left people unable to get through.

But they have systems in place (IP checkers) to prevent people from voting multiple times online.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/2010/11/18/2010-11-18_dancing_with_the_stars_voting_system_is_secure_against_multiple_votes_fraud_abc_.html#ixzz1696jPADi

There were tons of *Vote Jennifer Grey* campaigns online:
    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/threatening-letter-white-powder-forced-evacuation-at-dancing-with-the-stars/#comment-222274

And check out this article from Ann Althouse, about Sally Quinn, and her multiple voting hypocrisy.

Sally Quinn — who says “Dancing is my religion” — denounces Bristol Palin’s success on “Dancing with the Stars” as “unholy.”

And this strangely sanctimonious journalist — she’s writing in the always awful “On Faith” section of The Washington Post — condemns Palin voters for “cheating” 7 paragraphs after she confesses to doing something that is at least as much cheating as what the Palin fans are said to be doing.

My husband and I are “DWTS” fanatics. We plan our social life around it, often regretting invitations that fall on the night of the show….

    Ridiculous!

Not only that, but I vote. Under the show’s rules, you’re allowed to vote five times on one line. I have six lines at home and my cell, so I vote as many times as I can for my favorite.

So this lady, this longtime Washington powerbroker, has 6 phone lines, and she maxes each line out, each week, voting 30 times. But that’s the show’s rules. They can’t tell how many individuals vote are voting. They can only see phone numbers. So if your family of 5 watches the show and you — you economic losers — only have one phone, you can make 5 calls. Sally Quinn happens to have 6 phone lines, so she gets 30 votes — under the rules.

This season, I’m voting for Jennifer Grey all the way. She is by far the best dancer on the show.

    http://althouse.blogspot.com/2010/11/sally-quinn-who-says-dancing-is-my.html

According to MSNBC, the ABC network that airs Dancing with the Stars, admitted Tuesday that there were problems with the voting Monday night after the final round of competition. A record number of calls and online votes apparently jammed the system, resulting in many votes not being able to be counted.

The network claims the problem affected all three finalists “equally” and was “quickly addressed.” There was no extension of voting time by phone or online to address the problem.

If people were cheating to help Bristol, she would have won. If Brandy was so GREAT and should have been in the final and Kyle Massey wouldn’t have beat her.

This *controversy* was about hate for the Palins and nothing else. Unhinged, psychotic, incomprehensible hate for the Palins. And this just proved how insane these people truly are.

I was actually hoping for Kyle to win, and Bristol in second place. Big whoop – Jennifer won. They could have just handed her the mirror ball the first night…. At least Bristol and Kyle didn’t throw diva-like crying tantrums every single week.

What a brazen generalization, Finch. Would never expect that from you. Biggest haters in the world? Like those “haters” who passed anti-nepotism laws after Kennedy appointed his brother attorney-general? Or those “haters who limited presidential terms after a democrat kept winning? That’s laughable. What about the “haters” who were urging people to vote for her to “make leftist heads explode”? Let’s be 100% honest here; if this were about skill, not name recognition, Palin would never have made it as far as she did, she wouldn’t have been kept while a dancer with a perfect score went home. Personally, I could care less, but I just don’t like bullshit.

Then the teacher will turn and say… in hard times, people tend to gravitate those they feel safest in the presence of, so for the southern people, a kindly old milf could do no wrong. She could say whatever she wanted and the dull and the dim would follow her off a cliff.

What this show has done is bring the Palin’s into the pop-culture spotlight even further. So, now they have status outside of the political realm. Those who only vote every so often are now going to be familiar with the family and there will clearly be some appeal there. She could very well win the GOP nomination on popularity alone..outside of that is the real test for her.

I, personally, think she would try to push a theocratic agenda….sorry, but God doesn’t want you following his message because the law says you must.

I think most people on here are capable of reading more than 7 or 8 lines. “I have little to do”, so says the person who has no problem filling threads with dozens of comments….Don’t you have anything better to do than make irrelevant comments that have nothing to do with the topic, but just insult strangers on the internet?

First sara you are on the same sidw as the majority of posters here at Mediaite. Second at least you post actual information as opposed to Michele-in-Utah. I will give you credit for that. Do you post anywhere else? If you do you would know how it works!

No worries…she still has The Apprentice, The Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser, I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and Dr Drew’s Celebrity Rehab to go through. And then maybe American Idol. You know what they say…..”It Ain’t Over Til The Fat Lady Sings!!”

BFD I am the “Fat” Lady and I just sang. Let’s hope it is over. Maybe she should think about a future for her and her baby and get a real job.

Well, it’s over now. I’ve never watched the first episode of DWTS ever, but Bristol must have made for a riveting season. Fans of her mother got to root for her and liberal feminists got to call her a fat whore cheater. A good time was had by all.

I just love your sense of humor here.

I haven’t read one of your comments, I never do. I am looking at this as a person who loves “dancing”..A dancer, she is not, I don’t care who she is related to, it never matters to me WHO the dancer is..if you can’t dance, you shouldn’t be on the show. We all know it was merely publicity for Palin..I feel sorry that she used her daughter to gain popularity with the young voters. This young? lady was too heavy, clumsy, did not understand her moves, was mismatched with the young man, wore a ridiculous outfit..and there were so many negatives, I actually feel sorry that she made such a fool of herself..believe me, others have to..I wouldn’t be shocked if you see Betty White doing the twist next..”Dancing with the Stars” is no longer the talented show it first was, it is now more of a burlesque show than anything else, girls with their false boobs jumping out, huge wigs, face lifts..eyelashes a foot long…no!..that’s not a show about dancing talent..it’s porn!

i believe Bristol was wrong when she says that her mother and herself are hated,
and she called her non-supporters HATERS. Are they now?or are we just dance critics? If no one can
complain about what they view as lack of dance, then it is not a
free society after all. Not everyone will love Bristol and she has to
get t…hat, i believe people are free to choose whom they love and that is called freedom.
In this world there are fans and nonfans. There are those who vote for
the best dancer and those who vote for the best personality and those
who vote for politics, but those who vote for dancers are the best
voters, and because of them, ‘Dancing With The Stars’ maintains its
credibility. Sorry Bristol, things are earned and it is nothing personal
that you did not win the trophy. you just were not the best dancer is all.

    Dead on. Way to go.
