Chris Matthews Explains Sarah Palin’s Popularity: She’s Good At Being A ‘Wise Ass’
Today on Hardball, Chris Matthews discussed Time’s new cover story which featured an interview with Sarah Palin about her potential presidential campaign. After discussing the swipes she made at President Obama, he pinpointed the one thing that makes her so popular: “being a wise ass” and being “good at it.”
That quote came after Matthews grilled Time’s Jay Newton-Small on how she knew that the interview, done online, was actually done with the real Palin. “Because it went to her e-mail,” responded Newton-Small. Uh oh. We know that doesn’t necessarily prove anything, especially not with Palin and especially not now. Fortunately, Newton-Small said she could recognize Palin’s particular tone. So, the interviewee was definitely the former governor.
Or Tina Fey. She’s good at being a wise ass too.
