Dick Morris: Hillary Clinton Is Throwing Obama Under The Bus For A 2012 Run

video

On 60 Minutes earlier this week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commented that the American economy is making it more difficult for her to do her job because other nations are telling her that “we always look to you because you have this great economy, and now you’re in the ditch.” Bill O’Reilly saw “a little jab” at the President in those comments, blaming the White House for her job troubles, but guest Dick Morris took that premise a bit further, suggesting the remarks, coupled with her silence on health care reform, were a deliberate attempt to undermine the President building up to 2012.“I think there is a subtle distancing going on, and it began over health care,” Morris noted, pointing out that Clinton was not vocal about supporting health care reform. O’Reilly didn’t quite see the connection, since, after all, the Secretary of State rarely gives opinions on foreign policy, but Morris retorted that “She was doing this when she was First Lady!” and that, given the current potential backlash against Democrats in the 2010 midterm elections, “it’s possible that a grassroots swell comes up” and recruits Clinton to run against Obama in 2012.

O’Reilly, who agreed to some extent with the subtle distancing, added that he believed Clinton still had a very strong desire to be president, and that she may not have the “patience” to wait until 2016.

O’Reilly’s whole premise was wrong, Hillary was dissing Bush not Obama. We may be in a “ditch” now but Clinton is smart enough to remember who drove us in there.

So the points made by the Toadman were irrelevant.

  • timzank

    That’s mighty wishful thinking bfd…

  • roxsteady

Actually, the story about Dick Morris being forced to give back money for soliciting people to log on to his website and enter a sweepstakes to have dinner with him and his wife, is much more interesting. Apparently, when folks signed up they had to buy his new book which, as Media Matters points out, is ILLEGAL, he was forced to refund the money. I’ll just bet that Bill O didn’t ask him about that! Oh, and Morris is as delusional as he is FAT! Hillary will not run again because she can’t win. See PUMA! Those of us who voted for Obama would vote for him again. Sorry, DICK!

  • the real john t

Dick Morris is a complete asshole. Anyone that would give him air time on their show is another complete asshole.

oh lord do i wish dick morris was sane and that this idea really was true!

Sadly hes not and its not.

the crazed Obots (see Roxsteady for a easy crazed example) actually believe that obama really is doing a good job and that every problem he has is because of something Fox news said…..these fools still really hate the Clintons for daring to take obama to the end of the primaries (and beat the pants off of him) and if she ran theyd totally completely freak and turn all their race baiting teabag yellin’-palin loathing hate right at both Clintons.

No folks – you cant expect the clintons to clean up obamas mess. Thats the responsibility of the twits that elected him.

i mean just imagine what chris matthews and Frank rich would say.

I love those drinking at the fountain of Obama……he can do no wrong…..its all Bush’s fault……Obama is our savior…..he can do no wrong.

Dick Morris is irrelevant. It’s sad that he’s on TV.

  • lucyreddy

Yes I agree DICK Morris is completely clueless and a total idiot. He doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong.

Whether you like Morris or not is irrelevant, he makes a very valid point. You dems seriously DON’T think Hillary is “staging” herself for a run at the White House again?
Think Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter…Whether she pulls it off or not remains to be seen, but the dems are having serious buyers remorse (except rox) about Barry and will be looking for a new leader.

  • The Real Royal King

Dick Morris is always, always wrong about everything. He is the most inaccurate pundit on the national scene. It is an utter disgrace that FOX hires him. I’m sure the only reason he landed the job, after his little voyage of depravity and perversity, is that Ailes was so certain Hillary was going to be the 2008 nominee. And, since Hillary had Morris’ number early on, his unquenched thirst for revenge would prove to be trashy cable news fodder. Well, the 1% or so of Americans who tune into FOX went hungry, and Morris was still wrong. Or, did McCain carry Michigan and Pennsylvania, and did Palin lure disaffected Hillary voters into the Republican side?

I can’t decide, Tim. I think she would love to and I agree that she sees the Dem’s buyers remorse, but that would look terrible for the party, in my opinion. But, wouldn’t it be fun though to watch.

I find myself agreeing with the Libs a little bit on this thread. Dick can be a tab bit annoying. But I am wondering if they like him when he worked for Bill. I think the reason they HATE him so much is because he likes to air the dirty laundry or the Clinton era, although, I think he’s respectful of Bill. It’s just obvious he can’t stand Hill.

  • badr

    Good for her.

She barely has any debt left, why do you think she’s calling Bill to “fundraise”?

  • timzank

MichellF, I’m not a huge fan of Morris, I just happen to think the Hillary run is a real possibility. It’s the very first thing I thought of when I heard her remarks, they seemed to be unsolicited remarks to me.

  • The Real Royal King

I can assure you, Michelle, that Morris was greatly despised when he was in the Clinton camp. Not universally, of course, but sufficiently so that Hillary suffered no blowback when she had him canned and ostracized.

  • The Real Royal King

There is no reason you ought to believe that I speak with any particular authority on this matter, but Hillary honestly and truly wants to remove herself from public life. 2008 was an unpleasant shock to her, not only because she didn’t coast to an easy nomination, but because some many of her paid advisors truly, and I don’t believe this too strong a word, abused her. As a result, she is truly changed and she is completely worn out.

I have tremendous respect for Hillary, and I can attest it was gut-wrenching for me a couple of weeks prior to the primary in Texas to change my allegiance to (now) President Obama. I don’t regret my decision, and I believe it to be completely correct, but it was difficult at the time. The fact is that in the natural order of things, the party has moved from the Clintons now. Remember how the Democratic party works: a philosophy, a perspective gains hold and then someone to carry that philosophy emerges. That is vastly different that what happens in the Republican party, I believe. The philosophy remains fairly stagnant until a fresh face emerges who then gains popularity and carries forward the philosophy. There is nothing wrong with that, to be sure, other than the fact it is devastating when the party reverts to entitlement candidates like Dole, to a lesser extent Poppy and McCain. The Republican’s reverence for Raygun is because he was (while being a very old face) fresh. The ideology followed, but did not precede him. Raygunism, however, is dead, and Raygun himself would likely despise what the party has become. The issue for the Republicans is to find that fresh face. I don’t see one at the moment. Palin was fresh, but inept. Jindal and Pawlenty lack the gravitas needed to carry the face forward. Romney is a retread. Who then?

But again, for the Democrats, it is not and will not be Hillary, by mutual consent of Hillary and the party.

I think you are right that she would like to, I’m just not sure she will.

  • ImRubberYoureGlue

Obama is such a filthy piece of lying, sexist garbage. I would love to see Hillary run…

  • writer

Reagan was and is widely revered, King. It’s only you on the extreme far left who use the old ‘Raygun’ spelling and continue to hate him.

  • The Real Royal King

Who said I hated Raygun? He was an affable sort of person and a slightly better than mediocre president. You are really congenitally unable to understand the difference between analysis and advocacy.

  • writer

In that case, King, I’m sure you’ll correct your spelling of his name in the future.

  • The Real Royal King

    I don’t think so. It’s a term of endearment.

  • stevor

If Hillary is trying to HELP unrail Obummer, that’s great.

    Unfortunately, HILLARY IS MUCH WORSE!

Though Obummer is a Globalist, answering to George Soros and Brzezinski to create one-world-government, Hillary is BOUGHT AND PAID for by the Opposing FASCIST camp, the military/industrial complex.

  • writer

    “It’s a term of endearment.”

I’m sure you were totally unaware that the far left used the ‘Raygun’ spelling as an insult. Didn’t know you felt so warmly about him.

    LOL

That Hillary (who was, of course, named for Sir Edmund Hilleary, the first Englishman to summit Mount Everest) would throw -0bama under the bus for a chance to sit behind the desk in the Oval Office, is a foregone conclusion. The fact is, she would throw her own mother under the bus to be POTUS. If it comes down to cases, maybe we’ll all get lucky and ol’ jug ears will grab hold of her and pull her under the bust, too.

  • drex94

Phallus Morris is the only idiot that will go this ridiculous shows and make Vannity and Nazi Beck look even more ridiculous.

  • Sunnyr

As much as I detest Hillary, she would be a walk in the park after Comrade Obama and his unholy gang of Marxist’s, Communist’s, Maoist’s and Academia Nutwads who have the destruction of America as their mission. He is OUT in 2012 and we will have a CONSERVATIVE President. Deal with it, LOONS!

  • ex political-media hack

    im with ImRubberYoureGlue….100 percent

  • bobsmith

Timzank, I don’t know where you get the idea that Dems are having buyer’s remorse over Obama. His approval ratings among Dems are about the same as Bush’s were among Repubs for most of his presidency.

Sunny, Hillary’s economic views are virtually identical to Obama’s. If anything, she was more heavily influenced by Alinsky. And the Health Care plan she proposed in 1993 was actually more liberal than the one just passed. What you’re gonna have to deal with is at least two and a half more years of Obama. Enjoy counting the days.

I am counting the days until November 2 when we win back the Majority. I think we have grounds for IMPEACHMENT and that cheers me up. As for Hillary, she would NEVER go through the back door to seat a bunch of Leftist Communist Crudballs, to avoid Congressional oversight. For all her unethical issues, she is not THAT stupid or corrupt.

  • proudpatriotusa

Dick Morris, oh yeah I really want to know what someone who licks the feet of $20 prostitutes thinks…. no not really

Creepy toe-sucking, foot-licker, he’s a perfect fit for Faux News.
