Dylan Ratigan: ‘Glenn Beck And Goldline Are Largely Snake-Oil Salesmen And Scumbags’

Dylan Ratigan is really hoping to topple Glenn Beck during the early evening. He’s tried the red-phone-and-chalkboard before, and even brought in some muppets for good measure, but today he felt the need to attack the competition head-on, joining Rep. Anthony Weiner‘s crusade against Goldline international and calling Beck a “snake-oil salesman” and “scumbag” for being sponsored by them.

Playing a Goldline advertisement from The Glenn Beck Program, Ratigan explained: “Here’s the deal: that man there is paid by that other company to be a snake-oil salesman at your expense. He’s no better than the politicians he claims to be against.” Then he tried to steal the gold coins straight out of Goldline’s pocket by directing viewers straight to the market:

“If you want to buy gold because you’re concerned about paper currency, which is very reasonable, I suggest you buy gold. Just don’t do it with the extra subsidy that Goldline is delivering to Glenn Beck for his fearmongering, which is 90% more than you could buy the exact same gold if you just went to the finiacial markets– the ticker is GLD, feel free– you could buy and sell it all day long… Glenn Beck and Goldline snake-oil salesmen and scumbags trying to create money for themselves at the expense of everybody else in this country.”

Those are fighting words, though the last time Ratigan tried to tickle the dragon’s tail, so to speak, Beck didn’t really flinch. And this time around, Beck is probably too busy trying to balance his new job as proprieter of WeinerFacts.com with the rest of his schedule to respond.
