Jeb Bush On 2012 Presidential Run: ‘This Was Probably My Time’
Jeb Bush paid a visit to CBS This Morning on Wednesday, to chat about politics and the current election cycle. To no one’s surprise, Bush was forced to addressed the veepstakes, again saying the number two spot on the ticket won’t be him. Notably, Bush also remarked on a potential presidential run.
As he’s done before, Bush dismissed any vice presidential prospects, saying “under no circumstances” would it happen. Asked about seeking the top spot himself, Bush indicated the time may have passed.
“I’ve not made that decision,” he said, “although there’s a window of opportunity in life for all sorts of reasons, and this was probably my time.”
Bush added, “Although I don’t know, given kind of what I believe and how I believe it, I’m not sure I would have been successful as a candidate, either. These are different times than just six years ago when I last ran.”
Charlie Rose told Bush that many felt he should’ve made a run in 2012. “You know, you never know,” Bush replied. “That’s pure speculation and one thing I know for sure is you don’t worry about could’ve, would’ve.”
