Keith Olbermann Interviews Woman Stomped on By Rand Paul Supporter

video

The surreal scene of MoveOn.org representative Lauren Valle getting her head stomped on outside last night’s Kentucky Senate debate between Rand Paul and Jack Conway was destined to be cable news fodder for someone tonight, and Keith Olbermann followed through by not only discussing the matter, but bringing Valle on to Countdown to talk about it.

Olbermann criticized statements on the confrontation from both Paul’s campaign and by Paul himself before bringing in Valle, who showed no ill effects from the stomping aside from saying she’s still “pretty sore.” She explained she was there posing as an executive from a “satirical” conglomeration called RepubliCorp, representing the theoretical official merger of the Republican Party with big business. She said some of Paul’s supporters recognized her and “formed a blockade around” her so she wouldn’t reach Paul himself. Then, she tried to get around them and, well, you know the rest.

Valle said she’s “proceeding with a legal process” regarding the incident, and Olbermann was amused by the fact that one of the men who subdued Valle was wearing a button that said “Don’t Tread On Me.” Besides that, there wasn’t a whole lot to be amused by, because even if you’re at an event to try and make a candidate look bad, what happened to Valle crossed the line. Yell, rant, and rave at her all you want…but obviously last night’s events didn’t stop there, and they looked bad. Video of the interview below.

Man, it looks like they stomped on her face!

  • lazzzlo

    This should be interesting.

  • The Real Royal King

It is, indeed, a horrifying video.

  • lazzzlo

A “fictional, satirical comgolomeration” used as an example?

That doesn’t sell well in KY. Lexington, Franfurt and Louisville. Horses, government and business…in that order.

Whoever “disagreed” with her probably doesn’t know KY any better than her.

    What about clear-topping mountains?

It isn’t quite “a horrifying video.” But it should never have happened.

At the same time, what she did was antagonize people. If she had any clue of where she was she would have known better. Which is probably why she did it there.

Even a dimwit like you would have to admit that is not as horrifying as the Attack of the Tea Partiers, Kumquat. That’s just plain-old, all-American “dissent,” right TRRK?

To the contrary, King. I think this turnaround in Olbermann is long overdue. He usually shows as much respect for women as a drunken pirate. Also, King, I’m glad you’re not doing your usual on the topic of assaults, and joking that the victim was being ‘chased’. You may be turning human after all, King.

    (Nah, who am I kidding?)

Contrast this troublemaker at the rally with Jindal’s aide just trying to make it to her car. But the libs are OK with that beatdown. Anyway, the party line is that there’s no proof it was the act of their protesters, even though Jindal’s aide said they followed her from Brennan’s cursing her every step of the way. The libs say that’s not enough proof. How about the steel rod in her leg? A bit worse than the little bump our protester darling got from Paul’s supporters.

  • Patrick Henry

BW, I put that comment on here with tongue in cheek. Do you see any injuries or marks? I think she was trying to start something to make Paul look bad. I think she most likely received much less than she deserved.

And since you went to all white private schools and weren’t at my school, King, how did you arrive at this conclusion? Why didn’t you go to public schools? I think it is clear at least one man went too far but I have a couple of problems with how this is being portrayed already. The guy taking her down may have also been a bit overzealous as well but he fell, I can understand that. Foot to the shoulder guy – out of line, kudos to the man in the crowd pointing it out to him.

First, it’s guys who were trying to hold back people from getting to Paul who are involved, certain the atmosphere was rather chaotic.

Second, she bolted for Paul carrying something and wearing a disguise. Now at that point a reasonable person could be confused that this was someone who meant to harm Paul. Need I mention RFK or Wallace as examples of this very thing?

Finally, if this isn’t a honey pot set up I don’t know what is. Are we surprised she’s front and center on Olbermann? Of course not.

You know what people, this is not about right versus left, and it’s not about MSNBC versus FOX. This is about 3 men taking down a young woman, restraining her, and stomping on her. There was nothing threatening going on other than her carrying a sign. This was an act of absolute and unequivocal cowardice. Where I come from if a man, or men hit a woman they pay for it with a shot from someone their own size.

Anyone on here supporting what happened, or making a joke about it, deserves a shot from someone their own size. It’s not a joke. Rand Paul should have apologized for the actions of anyone from his campaign who does this. He should not have walked around an apology. Anything short of an apology from Paul, or anything short of anyone suggesting that there is no apology necessary is absolutely reprehensible.

Is this what the tea partiers mean by “Man Up”? Real manly men there, ganging up and stomping on a little girl because her sign makes fun of your candidate. Family values all the way. Know how they could tell her sign was anti tea party? It didn’t have any spelling errors..

  • notsofast

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, poor libs, she fell!

“The first involved a woman who is a member of http://www.moveon.org and who was determined to pose in front of Rand Paul holding a sign that read “Rand Paul Republicore: Employee of the Month.” According to police, the woman, identified by The Associated Press as Lauren Valle, said she tripped and fell on the ground after someone grabbed her blonde wig off her head.”

The second occurred after a Conway supporter stepped on the foot of a female Rand supporter, who recently had foot surgery, according to police.

The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open. Police say she refused medical treatment and also filed an assault report.

What happened to this woman was a disgrace and the guys who touched her should be arrested. Here’s the loathsome, contemptible character of the Democratic Left (from move.on’s site):

” Here’s some tips to help you earn the best media coverage possible:

Be flexible. You’ll want to have a plan, but be ready to adapt and make quick decisions on-the-fly.

Find the Republican candidate. Our interaction with the Republican candidate will be the most media-worthy part of the event. Don’t expect to get very close while carrying signs or an over-sized certificate, but instead get a pair of people (the RepubliCorp spokesperon and a videographer or photographer) to join the greeting line, and present a small version of the award to the candidate.

Find the media and go to them. Your action is for the media. Our goal is to reach undecided or swing voters with a message about the RepubliCorps takeover of Congress. For that reason, everything you do should be for the media, or for taking our own video and pictures that we then share. You don’t need to engage or persuade anyone at Republican events, and you should avoid spending time talking to them.

Stage a scene for Republican candidate’s supporters. The reactions of a candidate’s supporters to the RepubliCorp brand is a compelling part of the event. Try to position at least one scene near or in the crowd of supporters, and try to capture their response to your action on video. ”

You can’t reason with DECEITFUL people, you must DEFEAT them!

I believe the story that they thought the person was a threat to Rand. The are yelling for the police the entire time, they pull the wig off, and it reveals what appears to be a man from the back – which is where the two were that went after her. The guy that went down with her fell, and took her down with him. The guy that stepped on her shoulder was behind her, and might have thought she was a dude, too.

She doesn’t offer any proof that they knew who she was – she even said they heard someone say they were doing crowd control, and might have to take someone out. That sounds to me like they knew that people might get out of control, and it might be an unsafe environment. The people calling for police are because of her actions – not because of what is happening to her, in my opinion. They are calling for police before she goes down.

I think the crowd was concerned about the actions of a wig wearing person lunging at a candidate. This is what they do. Of course it looks bad to see what happened, but as an activist she knew what she was doing, and she went in there looking for trouble. Conservatives know that the left is capable of violence – they attacked Kenneth Gladney, they attacked Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend – it isn’t any surprise that it might happen again. If this woman didn’t want to get involved in a violent tussle, she shouldn’t have lunged at a candidate, wearing a wig, in the middle of a crowd.

The guy was wrong to step on her, but I don’t fault the guy who took her down.

So, Tumbleweed, would it quench your bloodthirst if the Paul campaign had tied Ms. Valle to the bumper and pulled her down the street for several blocks, or do you think the Paul thugs should have simply shot her dead on the spot? I want to make sure we get the level of political violence you and Michelle-in-Utah are advocating correct. As a basically peaceful person not accustomed to the type of political violence you desire, I don’t think I can come up with this myself.

I once read about elections in Manila. People ad to pick grocery stores in which the grocer was supporting their candidate lest shoppers be shot while checking out an barbers of the same political persuasion lest your throat be slashed. In moving into this system you seem to be advocating, should we perhaps have official party colours so that we might not be mistaken. Lauren Valle, while we didn’t see her hit anyone, she did act in an aggressive manner, lunging at a candidate, wearing a disguise. Like I said above, they thought her a threat. She is not an innocent delicate flower who was minding her own business and assaulted out of the blue. The left didn’t give a rats ass about Kenneth Gladney who WAS minding his own business, and they didn’t care AT ALL about Allee who did NOTHING and was violently assaulted and brutally injured. It’s funny they are now *outraged*.

This incident appears almost identical to the McCain protester that rushed him, and was taken down by a bodyguard. It looks like they both tripped and took the women down with them. The only difference is the man that stepped on Lauren, which I said he shouldn’t have done.

The story is Lauren Valle and not Rand Paul. Lauren Valle perpetrated this to divert attention from the issues. She is a professional and it was premeditated.

Also should trained professional Secret Service people be compared to volunteer thugs who take the law in their own hands? It’s interesting to note that they started this clip from the moment Mr.Paul exited his vehicle instead of showing the entire video where you would have seen this idiot-women run up to the vehicle and try to shove a sign in the open window and into Mr.Paul’s face. Of course, that wouldn’t fit the scenario Mr.Olbermann was looking for. The man that stomped on her head should be arrested for assault and battery but, this women also should be investigated for an attempted physical assault on Mr.Paul.

The deep-down Liberals are not interested in the truth. All they know is that Rand must be evil so they will do anything to stop him. They are not civil people. (The regular liberals out there seem unaware and unintersted in this information.)

This Lauren has a mental disorder. Normally, people debate civilly and use the voting booth to make a point. These people don’t like to follow the rules.

I take it that you didn’t listen to this video clip. My proof is what Lauren said. Try listening to this Olbermann clip. Did you hear Paul say anything about getting hit in the face? He’s talking in this and said nothing about getting hit in the face. She assaulted Paul? How come Paul didn’t acknowledge it. He could have said something. No one had a gun to Paul’s head when he spoke in this clip.

So you “see” something in this video that Paul, who was there, didn’t see. And Lauren describes how the assault on her was mentioned in advance. LISTEN TO THE DAMN CLIP: there’s my proof.

Look Sara in LaLaLand, she was not tackled after the clip you link to. If she has assaulted Paul then, as you assert, Paul’s thugs would have tackled her right then, but they didn’t .

She then went on around the back of the vehicle, around the front and approached Paul after he’d gotten out of the car, just as she claimed in the clip above. That was when Paul’s thugs assaulted her.

There is no bias in this assessment. If you were right in your bumpkin, always reactionary analysis, then Valle would not have been allowed to go on around his vehicle and approach him again.

She omitted the fact that she thrust her sign through his car window, portrayed herself as an innocent bystander, and was proved anything but. The fact that she managed to escape when security pulled her away from the car window, and that she managed to run around the front of the car, and run towards Rand doesn’t do anything to help her, and doesn’t prove anything in her favor. If anything, it shows they were remarkably restrained when she first went to lunge at him, and thrust a sign at his head.

She made the first move – a threatening one, thrusting a wooden pole through the window of a moving vehicle, and was pulled off. She managed to get away, and ran around the car, making another threatening move towards a candidate. She was wearing a wig, and had a hoodie pulled over her head, and was running towards a candidate – she was a threat. And her repeated efforts and actions only made her seem more so.

Her story is BS, and she was acting like a deranged and dangerous loon.

    “always reactionary analysis” –

She didn’t do either of these things. She was turning her sign around so Paul could see it, not “thrust her sign through is car window.” Again, Paul himself, said nothing about her, had not noticed her “thrust.”

Your bigger lie is how she portrayed herself. She told Olbermann (you still haven’t bothered listening to this video clip) exactly what she was doing.

So I ask you again, liar from LaLaLand, how the hell do you sleep at night? How do you rationalize this brutality?

You want to go back to 19th Century government and let the transnational corporations buy our Congress, outsource your job and despoil the environment? Fine; you’re a tool. But there is no honest way you can rationalized Valle being stomped on by a thug who then wants her to apologize to him. If you think you should make that rationalization, then welcome to Germany, circa 1938.

Lying about what? You say she was thrusting her sign through the window. I see her turning the sign around so Paul can see it.

Apparently you’ve never gotten up off the couch to do any real political activism. I have. I understand what she was trying to do, and what you’re accusing her of makes no sense.

More to the point, how do you rationalize the brutality after the sign-through-the-window (as you see it) was over? The thugs didn’t respond to her for that; they didn’t want her to succeed with her objective, to get video taped showing Paul that sign. Paul is clearly supporting 19th Century political-economics, and what she was doing was trying to expose the Republicorp connection. Beck is in on the Republicorp take-over that Valle is trying to draw attention to. Someone that Sarah from LaLaLand is part of.

you don’t see the sign fully inside the vehicle? you’re insane!

if Rand was your father or brother would you want some disguised lunatic shoving crap in his car, and running towards him? She was acting in a threatening manner and you are being completely utterly dishonest to say that she was *only turning the sign around so he could see it*. That is laughable!

I DID watch the clip, and I heard her lie. You are completely insane and full of BS.

I said the guy was wrong to step on her. I do not fault them at all for pulling her away.

“Apparently you’ve never gotten up off the couch to do any real political activism.” Not in like her, in a violent threatening manner, no. Nor do I have a felony arrest record, like her, either. I absolutely am against that type of in your face, aggressive, hostile behavior. There are too many crazy people, and no one should have sticks of wood shoved at their heads, through their car windows. And I don’t agree with riot type behavior or stepping on her, but if you lunge and run at candidates, wearing disguises, and thrusting crap in their car, you are going to be detained.

How can you argue with that kind of convoluted logic? Attack a candidate is “real political activism”? More like psychosis. It’s a shame that there weren’t cops around, how would they handled the situation? It’s too bad what happened to her, but to defend her actions is lunacy. My guess if she just stood there and held her sign she wouldn’t have been tackled.
