Rush mispronounced the word Mediaite because the wordplay implies the site was beneath him. If the site were run by a conservative, he would have made a point of pronouncing its name correctly. Our entire government is based on taxing it’s citizens to pay for running this country and the 50 states within it. Has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. The majority of this country, the vast majority, make the richest 2% of this country richer and richer. Why? These industrial democracies as you call them are almost entirely made up of smaller nations by both size and population, with relatively homogeneous populations politically, ethnically, racially and religiously. They have traditionally placed so many restrictions on immigration that they, like Europe and Canada, have been forced to import lower classes to do the labor the spoiled, mostly white, middle classes will no longer do because they take 3 months of vacation each year and retire at 55. Those European countries are rapidly now being overwhelmed by those imported lower classes, and are going broke as a result. Europe opened their doors mostly to Arab and African Muslims, who, once they arrived, decided they weren’t going to work. Instead, they’ve (purposely?) overwhelmed the social welfare systems of those systems and are reproducing at a rate that will bankrupt and colonize those countries in the next two decades. Those countries are now rapidly developing the same problems you criticize this country for having, and it’s hitting them like a brick wall.

It’s sort of the bizarre political paradox. Many on the progressive left like to try and label everyone in groups so that they’re all “the same”. Identical cogs in voting blocs. They seem more willing to let someone’s skin color, religion, sexual orientation define someone’s entire identity than someone on the right (who will probably let their job define them, if I’m being fair).

The right will be accused of trying to do this through religion, where the left will be accused of doing it through government.

I don’t know, my thoughts typically wander aimlessly. The attacks around here are so vicious anymore that I’m tentative to really say much of anything.
