SNL’s Ambiguously Gay Duo Go Live-Action With Fallon, Hamm, Carell, Colbert & Helms
It was a night of firsts on this week’s Saturday Night Live, as Lindsey Buckingham finally getting a word in edgewise on “What up With That?” was followed by Robert Smigel‘s “Ambiguously Gay Duo” going from 2D studs to star-studded live-action. Thanks to an out-of-control “flesh ray,” the cartoon duo turned into Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm, and their nemeses were played by a who’s who of comedy that included Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, and host Ed Helms.
While the luminous cast was a treat, perhaps the best part about the sketch is how dated the premise seems now.
