Russian Politician Seems to Admit Kremlin Rigged US Election: ‘Russian Intelligence Stole the President’

During a televised panel on the Russian show Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov, a member of Russia’s parliament claimed that his country “stole” America’s 2016 presidential election.

“[American] intelligence missed it when Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States,” said Russian politician Vyacheslav Nikonov to the panel.

In The Hill’s report on the incident, University of Virginia professor Allen Lynch told the publication the show was centered on America declining as a world power. “His point in making the remark was that if the U.S. can’t protect the integrity of its own electoral system, then how powerful can it really be?” said Lynch.

The clip was originally brought to light by Julia Davis — a Russian media analyst and the creator of the watchdog site
