Fox’s Jesse Watters Declares Robert De Niro ‘Lost His Mind’ After He’s Muted During Trump Tirade: ‘Kind of Like the Movie Better’

Jesse Watters accused Robert De Niro of having “lost his mind” after the actor was muted twice on The View while diving into vulgar anti-Donald Trump rants.

De Niro joined The View on Tuesday where he compared Trump to dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. He predicted “it’s over” if Trump is reelected to the White House. On two occasions, De Niro was muted, the first time saying, “excuse my French” before lashing out at Trump supporters.

“Nobody thinks Trump’s Mussolini and let’s be honest, most Democrats don’t know who Mussolini is. They think Mussolini is an appetizer at an Italian joint,” Watters said.

The Fox News host declared the 80-year-old actor has “lost his mind” in his golden years.

“I thought when people get older, they find peace. When I’m De Niro’s age, I hope to be basking in a sea of tranquility…not De Niro. He’s lost his mind,” Watters said.

After playing clips of De Niro silently ranting on The View, Watters joked, “Raging Bull. Kind of like the movie better,” referring to De Niro’s 1980 boxing film for which De Niro won the Best Actor Academy Award.

De Niro doubled down on his past criticisms of Trump on The View, including saying he wanted to “punch” the Republican candidate.

“Those people who support him with anger and hate because that’s what he’s about. They’re going to see. I mean, I used to see these things,” the actor said. “I didn’t understand how he and Rosie O’Donnell used to get into it. I didn’t really care. I see what a hateful, mean-spirited, awful thing he is.”
