Fox Business Anchor Blames $100 ‘Caviar Hot Dog’ for the Rise of Socialism: ‘I Think They’re Pissed’

High-priced dogs are fueling economic discontent amongst those who can’t economically ketch-up to their wealthier peers — and possibly fueling the rise of socialism, according to one Fox Business anchor.

The co-hosts of The Big Money Show were relishing a discussion Friday about pricey concessions, including a $100 offering at the Formula 1 race in Miami which featured a hot dog covered in crème fraiche, gold flakes and caviar.

That’s when Taylor Riggs, a self-proclaimed vegetarian, dogged the concession as a political symbol with contributor Codie Sanchez agreeing:

TAYLOR RIGGS: As a mostly vegetarian, I can’t tell you the last time I had a hot dog. I don’t, okay, one, I know that this is fun and I want to be fun, but that caviar hot dog is also why the socialists are winning because I think they’re pissed.

If you want to have a caviar hot dog and spend $100 on that, that’s your money, like you do you.

But the fact that that goes on I think makes some people not like jealous or envious, like how dare you. That also shows I think why we are seeing the rise of socialism.

It’s funny, but also stuff like this kills me because it means that the young kids are going to further complain.

CODIE SANCHEZ: I think you’re right about that. Yeah

JACKIE DEANGELIS: Go ahead.

SANCHEZ: All I was gonna say is that I bet this gets worse. Like, I bet 100 bucks is the starting point because I think you’re right.

I mean, look what just happened with the SpaceX IPO. We have so many, I live in Austin, Texas. I have three people I know personally who each made double digit billions on this.

Yes. I know and so I think the really wealthy are getting so much wealthier, and they’re able to see it — we could never see this before without social media.

That’s it. I’m betting two 50 dollar — 250 dollar hot dogs, I’m not a buyer, but I’m betting on it.

DEANGELIS: That hot dog looks good, and as a fun splurge, I might try a $100 hot dog, but you’re right, but I think it is envy.

And I think when they see it on social media, it makes people feel bad, the same way they feel bad when they used to look at magazines and if they weren’t skinny enough or pretty enough or whatever.

And it’s that envy that is fueling the rise of socialism because the visibility is out there.
