Fox’s Tomi Lahren Calls on Trump to Give American People ‘Clarity’ on Iran

Hosts on Fox News’s The Big Weekend Show agreed that the Trump administration urgently needed to update the American people on the war with Iran, especially in the wake of two more service members getting killed in missile and drone attacks.

On Saturday, U.S. Central Command reported that two service members were killed and one is still missing following Iranian strikes on an airbase in Jordan. An additional four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals, the report said.

“So now, 16 service members have been killed,” said contributor Lisa Boothe on Saturday’s show. “There’s a price to this war, clearly, both in the loss of blood and our men and women, and also financially, as well. Long story short…I do think it’s beneficial for the president to come out and say, ‘Hey, look, this is where we are right now, these are the objectives, and this is how we’re gonna get there,’ because a lot of this is undefined, and there’s sure is a heck of a lot of questions.”

Contributor Ben Domenech said that the message to the American people from the get-go was “put in terms” that were “far too optimistic” for a situation as complex as Iran.

Tomi Lahren, who hosts OutKick’s Tomi Lahren is Fearless, began, “I remember on the outside of this, too, we had a lot of folks who are Persian-Americans, or any Americans, and they were hopeful of what this could be. And to your point, Ben, perhaps there was this overly optimistic view that we could have the Persia of once was, and perhaps that could return, and democracy could return because there were enough people that wanted to change the government.”

She continued:

And now there very well may be, but they have rocks. So, unless you’re going to arm those people, the chances that they’re going to take back their government are slim to none. So, we don’t know who’s in control. It feels like the IRGC is in control. Maybe we’re negotiating with people who are not even calling the shots, and don’t have their finger on the trigger. So, I think, to Ben’s point, and to all of our points here to summing this up — some clarity with the American people is needed right now. Because we need to know what victory looks like, and you know what? I think that there might be a little bit of humble pie, of, “This might not be this revolutionary change, it might just be we set them back enough that we’re safe for now.” And then to your point, we might have to do this again, but being entangled for 20 years consistently, I don’t think that’s going to fly with anybody.
