‘Fraud Family!’ Protesters Heckle Ivanka Trump As She Heads Into Court To Testify In Fraud Case

Ivanka Trump was met by hecklers as she made her way into a Manhattan courtroom to testify in former President Donald Trump’s $250 million civil fraud trial Wednesday.

The former first daughter appeared stoic as shouts of “fraud family!” resounded during her police-escorted trek from her vehicle, up the courthouse steps, and through the front doors.

Ivanka Trump is not a defendant in the fraud case that is targeting her father and two adult brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. MSNBC reported that Ivanka appeared cooperative on the stand but repeatedly answered “I don’t recall” when questioned about the Trump family’s business valuations. Both Don Jr. and Eric recently took the stand in their father’s case, where they denied knowing details about the Trump Organization’s accounting practices.

New York Attorney General Letitia James spoke outside the courthouse before Ivanka Trump arrived, vowing to prove she personally benefitted from the Trumps’ fraudulent business practices.

James predicted that Ivanka Trump would attempt “to distance herself from the company” while on the stand. James continued:

This morning, we will hear from Ivanka Trump, who will be our last witness on our case on direct in our case against Donald Trump, her brothers, and the Trump Organization. Ivanka Trump secured, negotiated loans to obtain favorable terms based on fraudulent statements of financial condition. And she will attempt today to distance herself from the company.

But unfortunately, the facts will reveal that, in fact, she was very much involved. We uncovered the scheme, and she benefited from it personally. And Miss Trump will do all that she can to try to separate herself from this corporation. But she’s inextricably tied to the Trump Organization and to these properties that she helped secure financing for. So you cannot hide from the truth. And the facts will belie the truth and the evidence. And so we look forward to her testimony.

An appeals court agreed with Judge Arthur Engoron that Ivanka Trump was obliged  to testify, despite her argument that her appearance created an undue childcare hardship for the mother of three.
