Ghislaine Maxwell Moved to Minimum Security Texas Prison Following Meeting With Trump Deputy Attorney General
Ghislaine Maxwell was moved to a minimum security women’s prison in Texas following her meetings with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed the move after multiple reports on Friday.
“We can confirm, Ghislaine Maxwell is in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan in Bryan, Texas,” BOP spokesperson Donald Murphy told CNN in a statement.
Maxwell was a longtime associate of late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. She is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking. The Department of Justice said after her sentencing that she’d conspired with Epstein to abuse underage women for years. Epstein died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while being charged with sex trafficking.
Maxwell’s lawyer has not provided a reason for the move, but it follows two days of her speaking with Blanche in Tallahassee. Maxwell has also been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee. She’s demanded immunity to testify before Congress.
A recent Department of Justice/FBI memo on Epstein has sparked massive backlash, even among President Donald Trump’s most vocal supporters. The memo concluded that Epstein committed suicide and denied the existence of a long-hyped client list of abusers associated with the convicted child sex predator. Trump has called the existence of such a list a “hoax.”
Maxwell was previously serving her time at a Florida facility. Details of her meeting with Blanche have not been made public, but her lawyer claimed she gave information on 100 people to the DOJ.
Talk of a potential Maxwell pardon have circulated amid calls for new Epstein documents to be released, and the president himself has kept the door open, though said he has not given it serious thought.
