Israeli Embassy Staffers Gunned Down Outside Jewish Museum Were About to Get Engaged

The young Israeli couple shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum were about to be engaged, another tragic layer in the senseless murders that unfolded Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

Yaron Lischinsky had bought a ring this week with the intention of proposing to girlfriend Sarah Milgrim next week, Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter told reporters Wednesday night.

“The couple that was gunned down tonight in the name of ‘free Palestine’ was a young couple about to be engaged,” Leiter said. “The young man purchased a ring last week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem.”

But now, their lives have been tragically cut short.

Cops have arrested Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, who shouted “Free Palestine” as he was escorted away from the museum by officers shortly after the murders.

Lischinsky and Milgrim both worked at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, the Times of Israel reported.
