‘It’s Just a Bunch of Lies!’ President Biden Bristles When NY Post Reporter Asks About Hunter and Impeachment Inquiry

President Joe Biden bristled when New York Post White House reporter Steven Nelson asked him about the impeachment inquiry centered around First Son Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

House Republicans have been threatening to formalize the impeachment inquiry they’ve been conducting — despite widespread acknowledgment by journalists and even other Republicans that there is “no evidence” of wrongdoing by President Biden — by holding a vote.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) says he believes he has the votes.

On Wednesday afternoon, President Biden gave a brief speech in the Roosevelt Room urging Congress to pass his funding request, then took questions from reporters.

The president pushed back aggressively when Nelson asked him about the impeachment inquiry and his family’s business associates:

STEVEN NELSON: And also China. President Biden on Ukraine and also China. There is polling by the Associated Press that shows that almost 70% of Americans, including 40% of Democrats, believe that you acted either illegally or unethically in regards to your family’s business interests.

Can you explain to the Americans, to Americans, [inaudible] this impeachment inquiry, why you interacted with so many of your son and brothers’ foreign business associates?

PRESIDENT BIDEN: I’m not going to comment. I did not. And it’s just a bunch of lies! I — they’re lies!

STEVEN NELSON: You didn’t interact with many of their business associates?

PRESIDENT BIDEN: I did not! They’re lies!

In congressional testimony, star GOP witness and former Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer testified repeatedly that President Biden never discussed business when his son Hunter Biden would put him on speaker phone to impress his associates.

According to Archer, Hunter would put his father on speaker phone during meetings with business associates, but that Biden never spoke about business — engaging in benign pleasantries instead.

He also testified the president did not discuss business during dinners that were attended by Hunter’s business associates and others.
