‘It’s Very Loud!’ Fox Anchor Drowned Out While Reporting From Freedom 250 Grand Prix

Fox News anchor Aishah Hasnie struggled to report the news while on-site at the IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix qualifying sessions around Washington, D.C., Saturday, but the task proved to be a challenge as the Indy cars roared around the track while she spoke.

Hasne was drowned out several times while reporting on the tens of thousands of people still without power due to severe storms in Indiana.

She seemed to be struggling at one point, appearing to shoo away someone behind the scenes when tossing to a Fox Weather Alert about the Hawaiian Islands.

Senior Fox News correspondent Robert Ray remarked, “Hey, Aishah, it sounds beautiful there and loud down there in D.C.!”

Ray went on to report about Tropical Storm Moke that’s expected to drop a foot of rain near Hilo, Hawaii, before signing off.

Meyer Shank Racing team owner Mike Shank next joined Hasnie for an interview at the outdoor set as the cars sped by.

“Well, after a historic victory at the Indianapolis 500 a few months ago, the Meyer Shank Racing team is pushing to make history again maybe this weekend by winning the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix,” Hasnie said before adding, “It’s very loud, Mike. We’re gonna try to get through this!”

“Literally back stage of the race track with the Capitol behind us. It’s wonderful and we’re super happy to be here,” Shank said.

“How does it feel to know that the President of the United States said, ‘We’ve gotta have IndyCar here in Washington, D.C.,’ not NASCAR, not F1, not any other league but IndyCar?” Hasnie asked.

Shank’s full response was hard to make out due to the noise.

“It took a guy like him to make it happen, in my opinion. We tried for years, but [unintelligible] and Roger Penske, they got it done this year. We’re extremely proud to be a part of the inaugural. We hope, maybe, it could happen again. But the backdrop is spectacular. The folks here, we have a full house. Nobody paid to get in here. [unintelligible] We’ve got lots of people with eyeballs on us that haven’t been there before. It just, to put on the stage is just an awesome moment for my team, my sponsors, and [unintelligible].

“I think if you hold the mic a little bit closer, we might be able to hear you,” Hasnie said, laughing.
