DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Taken to Hospital With Allergic Reaction

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was taken to the hospital with a reported allergic reaction on Tuesday.

Phil Mattingly, guest anchoring for Jake Tapper on The Lead Tuesday, reported that sources had told CNN that Noem had been taken to a hospital.

CNN correspondent Priscilla Alvarez reported that they were still gathering details, but what they knew so far was that Noem “was transported by ambulance on Tuesday to a hospital in Washington, D.C.,” and that one source said she was “conscious at the hospital and has spoken to her security detail.” Alvarez added again that a source said that Noem was conscious and had spoken to her doctor.

DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told CNN, “Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering.”

“CNN observed several Secret Service agents posted at several entrances outside the emergency room at the hospital where the secretary was admitted,” Holmes Lybrand reported.
