Melania Trump Makes Her First Public Appearance In a Month: ‘I Heard You Missed Me!’

First Lady Melania Trump made her first public appearance in a month Thursday at a Rose Garden event announcing a new initiative for foster care youth, snagging a few laughs as she opened her remarks by quipping, “I heard you missed me.”

Trump was last seen July 19, at the World Cup Final.

Her latest public appearance comes as the public speculation has swirled about her husband, President Donald Trump, and his top aide, Natalie Harp — whose devotion to the commander in chief has been the subject of intense scrutiny for days since Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) invoked her name Sunday at a campaign rally.

Melania Trump emerged with Donald Trump, and took the podium to announce a partnership between her Fostering the Future initiative, IndyCar, Fox Corporation, Indiana University and Purdue University ahead of the 250 Grand Prix:

Good afternoon. I heard you missed me. Here I am! Welcome to the White House. I want to welcome our distinguished guests today… who stand in support of my Fostering the Future Initiative. The greatest achievement and investment America can make is not in technology, infrastructure or capital markets, it is our children.

We are at the beginning of an era defined by artificial intelligence, robotics and industries that have yet to be imagined. But America’s greatest competitive advantage remains its own people.

Tomorrow’s leaders are sitting in classrooms today, including those growing up in foster care.

Their capability is no less remarkable. Fostering the Future elevates America’s youth based on merit and talent, lifting them beyond economic circumstance and every other condition that may limit opportunity.

Our mission is simple yet transformational: provide every young person from the foster community a chance to earn a college education, launch a meaningful career and achieve lasting financial independence.

Harp’s name has dominated headlines since Ossoff remarked that Donald Trump would rather “travel with Natalie” than do his job.

MAGA acolytes erupted, claiming the senator was insinuating an untoward relationship between the thrice-married president and the aide.

Subsequent reports revealed Harp, 35, was so eager to stay close to the president she once jumped in the trunk of an SUV to be near him.
