A live camera “portal” connecting New York City and Dublin, Ireland was suspended on Tuesday following “inappropriate behavior,” including flashing and taunts about 9/11.

The “portal” – which was set up last Wednesday and consisted of two large camera screens set up in New York and Dublin – allowed residents in each city to greet one another and to take a peak across the world.

It wasn’t long, however, before the system was abused, with offensive and sexual acts taking place on each side of the connection.

The Flatiron NoMad Partnership, which operates the portal, told the New York Post its service would be temporarily suspended as a result of the behavior.

“Instances of inappropriate behavior have come from a very small minority of Portal visitors and have been amplified on social media,” the company told the Post. “In New York, we have had a set of protocols in place since the Portal’s launch, including 24/7 on-site security and barriers to prevent people from stepping onto the Portal.”

They added that the team in Dublin would take similar action to minimize inappropriate activity.

On Sunday, an OnlyFans model was recorded flashing her breasts at residents in Dublin from the New York side of the portal.

From the Irish side, a man was spotted taunting New Yorkers with photos of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on his phone, while another man reportedly displayed a swastika.

Others were caught on camera flipping the bird and playing pornography into the portal.

According to the New York Post, the inappropriate behavior “mostly came from the Irish side.”
