Pro-MAGA Reporter Asks Trump Whether He’d Like a Congressional Investigation Into Gavin Newsom for Palisades Fire

Pro-MAGA reporter Brian Glenn asked President Donald Trump on Wednesday whether he would support a congressional investigation into California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) as Trump blasted Newsom as “grossly incompetent.”

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump blasted Newsom while claiming he “saved” Los Angeles by deploying National Guard troops to the city in June. U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer ruled on Tuesday that the deployment was illegal.

“We saved Los Angeles and we saved the Olympics,” the president defiantly said.

Real America’s Voice correspondent Glenn then pushed Trump further, asking if he wants an investigation into Newsom over deaths from the Pacific Palisades fires earlier this year. Trump blasted Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s (D) handling of the fires, which destroyed thousands of structures and homes.

“In regards to Gavin Newsom, would you be open to a congressional investigation with regard to specific policy that killed 12 seniors, to see if there’s any negligence on Gavin Newsom or Karen Bass with regard to those deaths?” Glenn asked.

“Well, I’ll tell you, there’s negligence on not getting permits, we got all the federal permits. The federal permits are much more difficult. They were all got within 30 days. People can build houses. It’s going to be years before they are allowed to build their house, and Karen Bass is grossly incompetent,” Trump said.

He then ranted about Newsom’s “hands” and declared there’s “something wrong” with him. Newsom has been trolling the president in recent weeks, deploying the president’s own writing style to posts mocking him.

“This is a very incompetent guy. I watched him with the hands I say, ‘What’s going on with the hands? There’s something wrong with him.’ You watch him. There’s something wrong with this guy,” Trump said.

He blasted Newsom for “gross incompetence,” but did not firmly say whether he supports an investigation.

“I view it as gross incompetence. I view it as an ideology that is wrong,” Trump said. “It’s a radical left ideology and if I didn’t win the election, I think our country would be destroyed.”
