President Donald Trump threatened to escalate U.S. military strikes on Iran to include infrastructure like bridges and electric power plants as he urged the regime to agree to a peace deal “FAST.”
Trump took to Truth Social late Thursday to signal that key national assets are “next.” The president wrote:
Our Military, the greatest and most powerful (by far!) anywhere in the World, hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants! New Regime leadership knows what has to be done, and has to be done, FAST! President DONALD J.TRUMP

The comments came hours after Trump shared footage of an airstrike on a newly constructed bridge that was set to open to traffic later in the year, writing: “the biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again – Much more to follow!”

Axios reported that U.S. defense officials framed the strike on the bridge as designed to prevent regime military forces from moving weapons.
The 1949 Geneva Conventions prohibit attacks on infrastructure deemed “indispensable to the survival of the civilian population”, Politico noted in its report.
The latest threats land as U.S. and Israeli forces continue a sustained bombing campaign against Iran, now stretching into its fifth week, and mounting frustration at the regime’s stranglehold on access through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes. The move has rattled global markets and driven up energy prices.
